| How is this possible? I took Rocky to Petsmart the other day and there was another yorkie. I was talking to the owner, and she said her baby was 6lbs, and Rocky's 6lbs also (last time I weighed him in the fall he was well over 5 1/2). But the other yorkie looked The owner was like "Oh he's a tiny one" then we found out they weighed the same! He had short hair like Rocky, but could it be the coat of their hair? Has anyone else ever seen any two yorkies that weigh the same but look like they dont?

| OH yes! Izzy weighs 5lbs. So did Starr, but Izzy is much bigger looking than Starr was. Everyone always used to tell me that Starr couldn't possibly weigh 5 lbs, she must only be 2 or three Nope, always 5 on the dot. Yep, just like people, they can have different builds, heavier bones, etc

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Boo actually weighs less than Peeka but Peeka is smaller than Boo. Peeka has a very coby body and small frame he weighs 4 lbs 4 ozs but he looks like he weighs 3 or so. Daisy is 2 lbs 10 ozs and she looks almost as big as Peeka does and she is only 19 weeks old and Peeka is 10 months

| Yes and it works the other way too. Looking like they would weigh the same but do not. My sister has a Maltese that weighs 9 pounds, Gus weighs 5 pounds. They look almost exactly the same size. You would never know the difference until you pick them up.

| this is the reason i don't u/s why people are concerned about the weight. it is the structure of their body. my kirby looks bigger than muffie but kirby is 5 1/2 lbs and muffie is 8lbs. kirby was playing with a girl named daisy and she was 10lbs but half the size of kirby. when i picked her up....boy i could tell she was 10lbs. she was so much heavier than kirby.

| i've seen this before. i only have one yorkie but the yorkie i used to go visit all the time before I got my own she was soooooooooo tiny. i could have sworn she was a good 3 lbs at the MOST. i took maggie to visit and they were almost the same size...so I said "Dazzle weighs what...3 lbs??" they said "no, 7" I about died. maggie was 3 lbs and looked about the same size. i figured dazzle could have been a tad more than maggie since she is full grown but not 4 lbs more!!!i never would have guessed. i guess it is all in build of the dog..muscle, etc. just like people.
