| ![]() I have 4 male dogs in the house. They all lift their legs outside but I do not see it as a marking thing because they aren't trying to cover each other's scent. It was just something they picked up from watching one another. When they pee it's out in the yard and they look like little tri pods. I have never had an issue of marking in the house ever. They were all neutered at about 6 months old and none have any disgusting habits. I can't comment on the dominance issue because you would sure think with 4 males I would have a dominant one but I don't. Maybe it's because I display myself as such a strong alpha?? All I know is I love my boys and they love one another and I would not hesitate to get another male.

| ![]() Prince was 5 years old when I got him and I had him neutered about a month later. When I first got him he marked EVERYTHING. Mostly outside, but sometimes inside too. He doesn't do it inside anymore and he doesn't have to mark absolutely every square inch of the yard every time he goes outside anymore. He still has to mark where Angel pees outside. I'm not sure how much is behavior changed due to being neutered and how much it changed because he is used to the house, people, cats, etc. at his "new home" now. On a side note, my parents' 13 year old Yorkie started lifting his leg shortly after I got Prince. Apparently Prince is teaching him to play, howl and pee ![]() |
