| Im Freaking Out! Braxton has been scooting his behind on the floor for almost 2 days now. He has bowel movements but its like he is not getting it all out. I just noticed there is something hanging out of his butt....not sure what it is...anal glands seem to be swollen. My friend works at the vet.....we squeezed the glands, but I am scared what could this be hanging out? Any suggestions till I can get to the vet in the morning? |

| Can you take a picture of it, someone may be able to help you if they can see it. Kodak was doing that and he had hard stool hanging out. I gave him some cottage cheese and he used it with no problem and stopped scooting. Yt's have recommend canned (soft) pumpkin to help empty their bowels to. Not a lot, and the vet told me to take away the food and just let him drink water to help him release it. This all worked out so good luck to you and hope your little one feels better.

| skoshi was screaming like yelping real loud the other day once in the morning and next when i got home from work and both times i had to take a piece of poop off his butt. but it hurt him so bad and he was crying so bad that i thought he pissed the cat off lol. and he wouldnt let me get him to clean it. but the vet told us to give him vegetable oil or mineral oil. anything in the area. just a couple of drops and he soften ups his insides. hes been good everysince and we took him to get his shots sat. the vet checked it out and shaved his butt |

| Braxton is much better today! Thanks for all the advice you guys....I soaked him in some warm water and my husband squeezed the glands again. He seems to be doing fine now. I was scared to death but knew I could find some help here. Thanks again. |

| Oh my, what is this? Piper came running to me with a dingle berry hanging, so I grabbed a tissue to get it off. It kept coming & coming. Connected was a piece of dental floss. Poor baby, she must have got into daddy's waste basket again. Mine has a lid on it. Time to get daddy's bath a new container with a lid. I can't believe sometimes what they'll eat.

| Kinda gross, but Bitsy had round worms at 5 mos. She was scooting and ended up...... (gross alert!)... passing a clump of them. Vet took care of de-worming both my dogs and we're keeping them on Sentinel from now on! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | In all honesty...if you notice something hanging out - you need to get to a vet - the anal glands should NOT do that |

| Always check with your vet. it could have been a distended anus and that can be very SERIOUS!!!! We had to put a little lab puppy down the other day due to that very problem. The lady took him to another vet and had him operated on TWICE and still it turned out that we could not save this beautiful little pup, it had gone too far to help him and apparently the other vet didn't really know what he was doing. She kept taking him back and the vet told her she was over-reacting! Can you belive that?????? And now her baby is dead, so always check with a vet that you trust to tell you the truth!!!!!!!
