| Update on Mia And A Question About Sharing Toys With The New One Mia's little bro, a chihuahua, came home recently, and we are doing fine so far. She was not happy about it, and she seemed a little depressed. We are doing our best to communicate to her that she is more important to us, and we try to give her some alone time with us by putting the new pup in his crate and taking Mia out for about an hour to a pet supplies store, or a park every day. She has been doing much better since yesterday. The little guy LOVES Mia, he tries to follow her everywhere. Mia mostly ignores him, or jumps over him, but it looks like they will be good friends once they get used to each other. One thing is Mia is possessive about her toys. If the little one is chewing on a nylabone, she grabs it out of his mouth and walks away with it. Then we give the little one another nylabone, and she does the same. We have allowed this behavior so far because we want her to be the alpha dog, but we don't want this behavior to become problematic. Should we continue to let her take away toys from her brother? Should we say no? Any opinions welcome.
