| Hannah gets car sick in my new vehicle... I got a new Pathfinder a month ago. I used to drive a Honda Accord. Hannah never got sick in my Honda and she went everywhere with me, but since I got the Pathfinder she gets car sick. The first time she has ever vomitied was in her first ride in the Pathfinder, but I thought it was something she ate. Then she vomitied again last week, so I though I would only take her if I was going somewhere close like to the bank or post office. Yesterday I took her with me to fill my vehicle up with gas and we had only gone 1 1/2 miles and she vomited again..... . What am I going to do. I love taking her with me. We have a farm that is about 10 miles away and she loves to go there and play. I know there is a new medicine they can take, but will that med make them drowsy? I gave my daughter the Honda so I might have to trade with her...I don't think she would mind... |

| I am having the same problem with Lexie. She's only 3 1/2 months old, but when I first got her I could take her all over in my X-terra, and all of a sudden for the last 2 weeks she started vomiting as soon as I get about a mile down the road. Any suggestions? |

| Bobbi is the same way. He still has yet to outgrow this. I have tried benadryl and dramamine with no help. I tried the look-put carrier, not feeding prior to driving etc..........hope someone has advice. I even tried the natural drops.........didn't work.

| Ya'll need to slow down and stop hitting the potholes. LOL so sorry its just a little laugh.. I'm not sure.. I would think the honda to the pathfinder maybe a height issue that she's not used to being so high up. I know that when I lifted my truck at first It took a bit of getting used to because of the height issue. Maybe that is the issue. I definately would try short trips at first and once she gets used to those then venture out an extra mile or 2 then so on and so on. |

| Might it be the stability of the car? My baby never gets sick when I drive him around in my Mercury Cougar, but if and when he does get sick, it's always in my boyfriends Hyundai Elantra. I find that the drive is much better in my car as opposed to his, maybe because its alot closer to the ground, heavier and wider.. so more more stability compared to the Elantra? Maybe go easy on the turns, don't break too hard/too quickly because I know sometimes even I feel car sick in my boyfriends car! hahaha. Even when just switching lanes I can feel the swaying of the elantra more than i do in the cougar. |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I have the same problem with Stedman! I don't know if he really gets "car sick" - but he starts freaking out when we take him in the car with us. He did just fine when he was younger, but now that he is a little older everything has changed. He LOVES to go with us though. Anytime we get the keys and say, "Stedman, you wanna go for a car ride!?!!?" He starts twirling around in the air on his hind legs and barks like crazy and RUNS like the speed of lightening to the door! He LOVES going and gets so excited, but when he actually gets IN the car...he starts whimpering and whining and he yawns literally every 5 seconds! But I too think it may be my car. I have a brand new SUV (X-terra) and alot of the roads in this town are just CRAPPY and need to be fixed because there are so many bumps. Well, it seems as though any time we hit a bump he gets worse. I don't think he likes the "roughness" of being in the car and going over all those bumps It's just weird because when he was little, he did fine in the car (it was an hour and 1/2 ride to bring him home when we first got him) so I just don't get it!

| My daughter had this problem with her little Joey. She started giving him ginger before the ride. Now she uses candied ginger that she gets at Trader Joes, but I have also heard of giving a ginger cookie or just some ground ginger in his food. It really works for Joey, I can't say it will help all the dogs but worth a try. |

| I thought the same thing, and also that the pathfinder does not ride as smooth as the honda since it is really on a truck frame.... |

| 4X4's tend to have a more heavy duty suspension so they don't ride as smooth as a car. I suggest putting them in a crate where they will lie down and not get jostled around as much. It also prevents them from looking out the window and watching things move past. |
