| Urine odor and carpeting update I spoke to two professional carpet cleaners this week and they both advised me that the only guaranteed way to get rid of the urine odor is to get rid of the carpeting. Bummer! Judy |

| Wow really..............I just bought some new stuff at a nearby petstore. This lady that was a costomer in there was RAVING about it so I thought that I would give it a try.....I put it in my carpet cleaner, and ehhhhh I dunno, Im not that thrilled with it. I really think your guy was right and am ready to tear up my carpet but the hardwood floor underneath needs to be redone and Im not looking forward to that mess.....uggggg

| That's exactly how I feel. I need to get someone to take out my carpets and then see what my floors look like. They're parquet, but they might need to be redone. It's going to cost me too much money. What did she tell you to buy? I just bought Trail. My pet store swears by it. Haven't used it yet. Judy |

| I have the same problem..I usually have the living room blocked off...but someone moved the block & Jack got in there a couple of times....well, that's all it took.....he couldn't resist.....I first tried an enzyme cleaner from the pet store...then Bissell carpet cleaner for pet stains..then Resolve...then a mix of white vinegar, dawn & borax ...& finally straight vinegar. THE SMELL IS STILL THERE! I figure the stain is set permanently now...I will have to tear up the carpet...I hated it any way...no more carpet for me.

| IMO - the problem isn't the carpet. You may be cleaning the smell out of the carpet, but it has already gone thru to the pad. There's no getting rid of that. Just be glad it's not cat pee that we're talking about.........
