| ![]() I have been having problems with the potty training also..it's like my puppy will either pee pee on it or poo poo..and when he has an accident I place him on the pad so now it's like his official time out spot..he will have an accident then run to his pad...I must be doing something wrong cause I almost think he likes his pad too much to pee pee on it. I keep him confined for his down time and let him out to play and eat etc but for some reason he would rather use the carpet or kitchen rug...it's getting to us all though cause I am getting so tired of shampooing carpets. It gets old but he is just so darn cute I forgive him so quick... ![]() |

| ![]() Just today I set up the xpen and Reese ( 1 yr old yorkie ) and Reagan ( 12 week old shihtzu ) - right now they are in there so while I have things to do and can't be right on top of them they are confined. They each have their own crate with the beds inside - I too was so sick of having my house be "pee" central and puppy pads all over the place......( kind of embarrassing when you get company ) So now they will stay in there until spring when I will try to potty train them both to go outside ............( worth a shot ) ![]() When I do let them out to play with me, they will be with me and not aloud to run around the house freely. I too feel like this will never end........I feel like I just " want my house back " with no crates, pens, etc......... but I am confident with persevirence and consistency someday they will be able to run free ...........( here's hoping ! ) ![]() |

| ![]() I got Peanut at 1 1/2 yrs old and she is only about 75% potty trained. I think it is much more difficult when we adopt them as adults. I wonder if Sassy's previous owner really had success with pee pads? I was not told my Peanut was not potty trained until I got her home. I agree with the crate training. I did this with Toby (got him as a baby) and he never has accidents. Good luck! ![]()

| ![]() I learned a trick for pee pads for little boys that like to hike their leg and pee... put a 1 or 2 liter coke bottle filled with dirt, gravel , or water.. something that will make it heavy you can wrap it with a pad if you want or just leave it and they will choose that to mark .... they have to have a target... I started off using a can out of the pantry...... ( I threw it away .) I couldn't eat what was in it even if he was still in the can.., |

| ![]() The spray I use is made by Simple Solutions and does have something in it that attracts them, I spray it on the cloth pads from Valethics, the paper disposable ones usually have something on them already. If your baby is a climber I wish you luck with the expen, ZsaZsa jumped or climbed over ours so I bought the tall one for large breed dogs and she goes over that too, guess I'll have to buy a cover for it. Best of luck with your training!
