No Longer a Member | Look what I made I have gone through so many harnesses and collars, since Chloe chews through them. So I decided to save all the collar hardware and make a new one. I cut the fabric (leftover from a pink dress I made for her) on the bias to make it stronger. Not too hard. |

No Longer a Member | Basically, I copied the way another adjustable collar is woven through the hardware--impossible to describe LOL. But for the fabric here's what I did: I cut on the bias 1 5/8" strip of fabric; I started with about 15" length. Then I pressed it in half longways, and then folded each half in to the fold line, so that when it is all folded, there are four layers (like double bi fold bias tape). I think it could use some fusible interfacing to give it more strength and body. I'll try that next time, but I didn't have any this time around. Then, I just top-stitched down both sides of the strip with a very short stitch length. Then just take the "tape" you've just made and weave it through the hardware pieces in the same manner as one you can find at the store. I used stitch witchery to first bond the end peices down, then stitched in a square at the ends, and straight across on each side of the D ring to hold it in place. This is in no way heavy duty, but basically, around here, the collar is just a way to keep her tags on her. I use harnesses to lead her around. hope this makes sense. You really have to see a store bought collar to get the idea, since I know I could never properly describe how I fed the tape through the hardware LOL |

| Wow, what a good job you did. I really like how you have a bigger ring on the color to hook to the leash. It looks very sturdy.
