| New yorkie owner, PLEASE READ Okay, I have been bathing Gizmo once a week with baby shampoo.. my breeder told me to use that.. anyway, he is in need of a bath but he has some flaky skin.. not horrible but definately flaking like dandruff.. I don't want to make it worse but he needs a bath.. any products I should use? I am in a rural area so it is hard to come by pet stores.. but I gotta get something for my poor little stinky man! |

| hey... any pet shampoo that contains oatmeal is great for dry skin.. or if you can't get that you can give him an oatmeal bath... but i think that once a week is very frequent and that could be why he has dry skin.. especially in the winter |

| It could just be the baby shampoo irritating his skin. Some dogs are more sensitive than others to human products because the ph of their skin is different from ours. I agree about trying a doggie oatmeal shampoo. Once a week might end up being too frequent for your baby but most of us bathe our dogs once a week without any trouble. One of my dogs has very sensitive skin so I don't use the blow dryer on him. Good luck!
