| My Mom tried to get my Dad to come over and see our new puppy. He said "Why - it's just a stupid dog!" So then he sees the pictures and says "So...you wanna go to Kentucky and get one for ourselves?" I took her over to meet him last night. You could just see the gruffness melt out of him when he saw Calliope. She was scared and shaking and he bent over, picked her up and then got the high-pitched goo goo ga ga voice... "What'sa matter baaabbeeee??? Huuuhhh???" "Awwwwwww iss a baaaabbbeeee scarreeddd???" "Awwwwww Papaw protect you...." Now he keeps telling Mom that "SHE" needs one. Whatever...LOL

My dad was the same way, he was like "That dog ain't good for nothing, she is ugly" (of course he was just joking), but all he could do is look at her and laugh-he only has hunting dogs so he had never seen a pretty girly dog with bows in her hair. Now he will get down in the floor and play with her and hold her. He will tell me to take her bow out because "it might hurt her head". | |

No Longer a Member | OK, this is the one that I took on the day after we got Chloe. My husband who told me before we got a dog, "I don't want a dog...a peeing, pooping (or words to that effect ), licking dog. He instantly fell in love with her and says, "my dog" all the time. Don't think I don't remind him of his words on a daily basis One of these days, though, I'm gonna snap a picture of him holding her when she's all dolled up all girly like with a big PINK bow in her hair. Then I'll frame it and make him put it on his desk at work!! |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Here is my dad the first night morgan came home. My dad put up such a fight about me getting a 'little $#&! dog". he didn't even want to talk about it anymore. Then the day came when i went to get her and as soon as i got home from the 4 hour trip the first thing my dad said was 'why didn't you wait for me, i would have went with you?' DOH. then he proceded to play on the front lawn with the pup and then lay on the floor in the house with her too. LOL men are such drama queens first one is the day we came home. the other two are at 5 months old
