| I agree, it is a personality issue, not a breed-specific issue. Our little Yorkie boy Shadow loves to be snuggled on my lap, but he has his hyper moments when he is just too busy stirring up trouble to sit. Kitara loves to be in a lap, or in our arms. She will follow us around the house begging to be picked up and held. Suki is more independent and doesn't ask to be picked up, but she is more than willing to steal my pillow at night. There are lap dogs and there are Dog Laps. Some of us are lucky enough to fall into that category. Are you a Dog Lap? do you find yourself hesitating to answer the phone or get up for something because you would be waking up three or four (or more!) of your snuggling fur children? Do your dogs pace the floor restlessly, waiting for you to sit down and be their Dog Lap? ah, the wonderful blessing of being loved by our dogs. |

| Peanut is, Toby isn't. Peanut isists on being in my lap evertime I am on the computer. If I ignore her she will pace back and forth a few times then pee on the floor. Argghh!! Toby is much too hyper to sit still, but he can literally play fetch for hours.

| Hopey is a very independent little thing as long as no one else is home... I have teenagers in my house ALL the time... Hopey hates it and sits on the end of my bed barking until they go away.... she hides and wants to be held but only when people are around. Tootie is a love bug, ALL the time! He loves anyone who will play with him...

| Pete is a lap baby all the way. My boyfriend is in a wheelchair so if Pete isnt eating, pooping or playing he's perched on his dads lap a.k.a. Pete's Throne

| My crazy little one is not only a lap baby, but he doubles as a neck rest. His favorite thing to do is take his Nylabone chew toy and either perch on my shoulder or wedge his whole body behind my neck (like a neck-roll pillow), securing himself between my head and the back of my chair (hed on one shoulder, butt on the other). Imagine to joy of having a wet Nylabone smacked up against your face for leverage. The sound affects of juicy chewing also are such fun. Actually, when he's in his "behind-the-head" position, it does make for a nice, WARM, furry neck pillow. It's funny, when he jumps on my lap with his bone, he just keeps climbing on up to the top like it's a perfectly normal thing to do -- all I see is an adorable face charging at me, his bone hanging out of his mouth like a cigarette. Sometimes I insist that he sit on my lap instead and chew -- but sometimes I just give in!

| Our Tobey is. Sort of. He's odd xD He doesn't like being picked up (sometimes he'll run rather than be picked up), but once he's being held he just snuggles and won't move until you do xD

| Never had one that was not a lap baby. All mine literally live on me and will not even play or eat unless I am right there with them. Thankfully they are both very tiny because I only weigh 110 myself, so they fit nicely on each leg. |

| Only 3 out of my 4 are lap Babies, and they are the 3 females. Artie refuses to be.......but he is always by my side or at my feet never more than 3 feet away! As a matter of fact he goes every where with me and if he is not allowed in a perticular Store he waits patiently in the Car. Except Work 4 times a week, otherwise I would have no personal life at all. |
