Stains on furniture...do you think it is my dogs? I have 3 little dogs, 2 Yorkies and a Maltese. I have always allowed them on our furniture because to me they are part of the family. Ive never had a problem with this...no accidents or stains...in fact,my two sons were worse. Anyways, I got new furniture about 6 months ago...it is solid navy blue and a cotton fabric which is washable,so they say. Since I got it it has developed little white spots all over it...they dont clean off with anything, even dry cleaning...they look a little raised, but you cant scrap them off either. I had the sofa company out once...he didnt know what it was but they replaced two covers, however it continues to happen. I know none of my family has spilled anything, plus it is all over both the sofa and love seat.. I just recently noticed more of the spots in an area that my Maltese lays on (though they are in other areas too)frequently and wondered could they be urine spots? They have no odor and are white as I said, but I was thinking the ammonia in the urine could stain it white. Plus only one of the three is neutered...could that be it in anyway that you know. I am heartbroken...I skipped vacation to buy this furniture and now it looks awful. Im not sure what I will do if it is the dogs, but at least I would know and take further precautions if it is. Please help me figure this out! Laura

That IS strange. Are the stains all the same size and shape? Is it only on the seat portion of the cushions?

yes, basically the stains are about the size of a dime or smaller, mostly smaller, and are all over, on the top of the cushions (my dogs do lay up there), on the seats and some on the arms. Laura

Could your dogs be licking it or maybe drooling on it while they sleep? That can leave white spots.

Do they eat any treats up there at all? I ask, because when I stayed with my uncle, I gave all 3 dogs treats. Well, one took his on the ottoman, and it left white stains all over it. Cousin would have killed me had she seen it. I had to bring over my carpet cleaner to get it out, but it did come out.

Im thinking its coming from your pets. I let my fur-babys on all my furniture and on one of my chairs I have noticed the same spots . Its coming from their privates.Their not peeing on it or any thing its just when they lay up there and their privates is wet. It dont show up on my other furniture just the back of the one chair where they lay. So Im guessing its on all my furniture but it just dont show up like on that chair. You may need to toss a blanket or sheet over the spots where they lay.
