Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Protecting her NEST ! I wanted to shared this because I think it's really amazing how smart our little yorkies are- We had a mommy bird start building a nest - We (Me...Chanel & Cheri) helped by giving her stuffing from my yukky lawn chair that's falling apart...so then she laid her eggs and I kept peeking in and my girls were keeping a close eye on what I was doing - Well the babies were born and I got some really cool pictures but the best thing is... Chanel is now the protector of the nest - she chases away EVERY bird but the mommy !! It's so cute - the mom can sit and fly wherever she wants and Chanel just watches her - but let a Black Bird or something else come near the nest and she goes in attack mode barking and running after it !! The mom let me get within 3 feet for these pictures.... |

| Villette,Regarding our conversation the other day. I don't know what kind of bird that is but I dont think it looks like a mockingbird fom my area of the country. Besides our mockingbird mommys would peck out your eyes if you got that close. LOL |

| what a great picture the first one is. I think that's photo contest quality. That is so sweet of Chanel, and amazing that she recognizes the mommy bird to let her in. (I'm not sure I would even recognize one bird from another!) It's amazing that the mom lets you get close to the nest. Doesn't nature amaze you sometimes?! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Thank you !! - they've already changed in 3 days since that pic and have fuzz now ...they eat Constantly ! When I walk up to the nest ...I can't see them - but when I make a kissy noise - they shoot STRAIGHT up like little 3 little Jack-in-the-Box's ...that's how I got these pictures... I'll take some more pics so you can see how they've changed and post one..... |

| Very nice That is so cool. I have never even see a nest with the babies in there that close up. You are def. an amazing photographer. I love the one with Chanel peeking through the fence at the nieghbors it was so cute! You should create a little business of taking pics for others around you. Youd be a rich girl and then can take care of all of us. Only being silly. But you a very talented with your camera! |
