| Barking?? At what age can you tell whether they will be a barker or not?? My guy is just about 12 weeks, and he really doesn't do much for barking AT ALL?? I have always been under the impression that these guys like to bark, so I am curious when any of their puppies started their barking? Or is the barking yet to come? Thanks so much!! Heidi |

| Brissy is 13 weeks and she didn't start barking until about a week ago. She still doesn't bark if someone comes to the door. She barks at the strangest things. Like if there is something on the floor that she thinks should not be there. One of my parrots threw an empty food dish on the floor and she just went nuts. She knows what speak means. She does a spin and speak on command for a treat. |

| My boyz were both silent watchers for a few weeks after they came home and then one day between 5 and 6 months they found their barker! They're good though...they only bark to let me know someone is coming up on the deck or if they need to go out and then it's a very quiet 'woof'. They bark when they play sometimes but they're not yappy little dogs in general. Surprisingly though, Riley has a pretty big bark for a 4 pound dog! |

| Boo is not a barker at all. He only barks when some one is at the door or when someone approaches the car with either myself or fiance are in it. I cant even teach him to speak.

| Mine too were 'silent watchers' for the first few months. Then around 6 months they really found their voice! And it's been yap, yap, yap ever since. One will set the other one off and they bark like crazy if anyone dares to drive down our road! And forget about someone ringing our doorbell, it's mayhem. We are constantly working on the barking issue. It's a work in progress, but I'm optimistic!

| OMG...please enjoy the peace you have right now. If you are lucky, he may just be a quiet one. My baby will not stop barking for the life of me.

| Thanks so much for all the responses, at least it will be summertime when he 'may find' his voice, so we can work on that OUTSIDE, and maybe won't have to deal with it the following winter when we are all inside. I will relish his quiet demeanor right now |

No Longer a Member | Yikes! And here I am bragging to everyone about how my baby doesn't bark much. To find out when she's 6 months is when she's going to really kick in. LOL For now, only once in a while do I hear some barking. And her occasional bark is so cute! |

| LOL, enjoy the quiet for it may not last!!!! Ginger IS a barker but didn't start til around 6 mos. Bernie is NOT much of a barker but will occasionally get going. Like today when the wind blew the cover off the grill and into the dining room window...they thought we were under attack!!!

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | mine started at around 4 months old. He barks at dogs and people passing by. He has a really deep bark, like the one from a big dog! Don't worry if he never starts, you'll be lucky! |

| barkers My JD is not a barker unless someone is knocking on door, in our yard, etc. infact all my yorkies have been quiet. JD though hates the mail man, since we have a slot in door for mail to come thru, he's jumping up higher than that to get the mail, and barking, then we have a contest to see if he ate up anything important.Sharing this mail is not something he wants to do!! My mailman puts the smaller stuff thru first so JD moves away from the door before he puts a magazine thru so he doesn't beam him!! . Then I have JD give him cookies and gifts to make up for being so bad with him. The guy waves and talks to JD all the time.. I'm hoping to get a picture of it soon, and will post if I do. thanks for the laugh .. ginger |
