| Patellar Luxation??? [F] HAS ANY ONE HAD THE PROBLEMS WITH YOUR YORKIES KNEES? I WAS TOLD THAT ZOEY HAS THE CONDITION PATELLAR LUXATION WHICH IS THE KNEE CAP POPPING OUT OF PLACE THEN POPPING IN AGAIN. I NOTICED THIS WHEN SHE WOULD LIFT HER LEFT HIND LEG AND HOP ON ALL THREES. SHE SOMETIMES YELPS BUT ONLY VERY SELDOM WHEN SOMEONE PICKS HER UP THE WRONG WAY. SHE IS NOT IN ANY KIND OF PAIN. ZOEY JUST TURNED 2 LAST WEEK SO SHE IS PRETTY YOUNG FOR THIS CONDITION. I WAS REFERRED TO A SPECILIST BUT HAVE NOT MADE AN APPT. YET. I WAS TOLD BY THE BREEDER THAT ONCE SHE HAS THE SURGERY ARTHITIS WILL SET IN WITHOUT A DOUBT. THE SURGERY WILL RUN BETWEEN $1400.00 AND $1800.00. SHE MIGHT DO THIS HOPPING MANY 2-3 TIMES A DAY AND FOR ONLY A FEW STEPS AND THEN SHE IS WALKING AND RUNNING JUST FINE. ANY SUGGESTIONS FROM ANYONE WHO HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR PUPS, OR KNOW ABOUT THIS CONDITION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I JUST LET HER OUTSIDE AND SHE WAS RUNNING AND PLAYING IN THE SNOW LIKE NOTHING IS WRONG!

| I have a friend whose 2 year old dog just had sugery for this. He is fine now.I have heard the Vet can feel this in their legs as early as 13 weeks. I know there are different scales determining the serverity of this. Thats all I know, but I'm sure more in here are more knowledgeable about this than I am.
