| Reghan is home!!!! We picked her up last night. She is so cute and so tiny (especially compared to Roxie). She is a nervous wreck. I think Her and Roxie have a mutual dislike of each other. Roxie will not leave her alone, she just keeps sniffy her and nudging her with her nose. Reghan did attack her food dish today...it was so cute. I actually heard her little bark! She is eatting okay, but not drinking a whole lot.I am giving her nutri-cal every couple of hours. She has peed and pooped (both look good)! She slept with me on the couch last night and today. She doesn't seem to mind being in her ex-pen, It gives her some time to herself. I actually think she feels kinds safe in it. I guess we both survived our first day...So far so good!!!! I gotta bunch of pics, I will post them as soon as hubby gets home to put them on the computer! If anyone who has dealt with bringing in a second puppy has any tips please send them my way!! I can't stand seeing her so nervous! |

| When we brought home Piper, it took Misha a week to get used to her. We kept them seperate until I took Piper to the Vet the next day. Best advise I can give is don't let the 2 of them together until you take the new one to the Vet. I'm glad I waited to let Piper get around Misha because she ended up with Giardia & coccidia. Misha never caught it.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome home Reghan!! Can't wait for pictures. I just brought Pixie home last Saturday she is 13 months old but the breeder housed her puppies and dogs in her basement in runs so a house wsa overwhelming at first for her. She is my 3rd dog. Maya ignores her unless she wants to steal her vookie then she growls at her and grabs the cookie. Cali does not seem happy even a week later. They have been fighting a bit but will lay close to each other when sleeping. It took Pixie a few days to get the feel of the house and now she runs around like she owns it. She hates being crated so you're lucky Reghan does. Pixie was even scared to be picked up.

| We got Teddy when Daisy was 6 mos old and she was not real happy about it at first. We gave her a lot of extra attention and they are great friends now. It didn't take long at all until she liked him. We always crated them separately when we were gone so they would have their own separate space.

| Thanks for the great advice guys. I went out tonight and bought the both of them a bully stick (Reghan is chewing my fingers to death), I gave Roxie hers first (so she wouldn't feel left out). She decided she wanted both sticks and hid Reghan's!! It was too cute. They are alot less angry and now they ignore eachother. Reghan is still shaking alot, but seems to calm down when Roxie is near. She also seems to be looking for her. I think Reghan is sleeping an awful lot, but I guess that a puppy thing. Also, if anyone knows how to see if she has a fever please let me know. She was licking my face and her tounge seemed a little hot!

| Aww, bless your heart. I can soo relate to worrying over everything when they first come home! Not sure on the fever thing, we always check their nose...but the vet takes it rectally . Someone here should be able to help (I'm kinda embarrassed that I don't know how to take a temp). Can't wait to see pics of BOTH your girls!!

| Temperature CONGRATULATION ON YOUR NEW ADDITION, CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE PICTURES **TEMPERATURE** THE NORMAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR DOGS IS 101.3 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, ALTHOUGH YOUR OWN DOG'S NORMAL TEMPERATURE MAY BE AS LOW AS 100 OR AS HIGH AS 102.5.DON'T RELY TOO MUCH ON THE TEMPERATURE (OR OTHER VITAL READINGS)SOME STREES CAN CAUSE CHANGES.TAKE YOUR DOG TEMPERATURE AT HOME FROM TIME TO TIME, WHEN ALL IS NORMAL AND RECORD IT IN YOUR DOG'S RECORD BOOK.BY OCCASIONALLY PRACTICING THIS SKILL, YOUR CONFIDENCE WILL GROW. **TO TAKE THE TEMPERATURE** USE AN INFANT'S RECTAL THERMOMETER (MAKE SURE IS CALIBRATED TO THE FAHRENHEIT SCALE) OR A DIGITAL THERMOMETER.fOLLOW THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTION, THEN LIFT AND FIRMLY HOLD YOUR DOG'S TAIL SO HE CAN'T SIT DOW, AND GENTLY INSERT THE BULB END INTHE THE RECTUM AS DIRECTED, USING A SLOW,STEADY, TWISTING MOTION. HOLD THE THERMOMETER IN PLACE OFR AS LONG AS DIRECTED, REMOVE IT, AND READ THE FINDINGS. HOPE THIS HELP. |
