Puppy Growth I'm interested in finding out what's normal for a puppy to grow within a 4 week period. When I first got Sparky I took him to the vet and he was 6 weeks old and weighed 1 lb 9 ounces. I took him back to the vet at 10 weeks and he had gained up to 3 lbs 9 ounces. The breeder said his mother weighed about 9 1/2 lbs and his dad weighed 7 lbs. I hear so much about "teacup" Yorkies, and I've read in the forum about much smaller weights in babies that weren't considered "teacups." From what the breeder said, Sparky should weigh somewhere between 7 - 10 lbs. Is that "big" for a Yorkie, or is that average? How much weight should I look for him to gain?

There is a chart that you can look at to get an estimated adult age. Hannah weighed 2 lbs when I got her at 11 weeks, 17 weeks she weighs 2.8 lbs.

Sounds like your baby will be larger than standard (up to 7#) but he will be perfect to you
