| Help: Picking on Stitches This is the 6th day since after Sparky neutering. He was wearing a size 10 cone until i found out that on the 3 day he was able to turn his head around and lick on his stitches. Then i called the doctor and ask that i get a bigger come so they gave me a 12.5"H cone. I just realize yesterday that he is still licking his wound and the edge of the cone is scraping his wound. I even bought the baby onesis and it seems like he refuse to wear it. he keep on bitting the onesis off and. I am running out of options. What are my options. I read that some people have no problem with their little one wearing the baby onesis. Somehow my little one is really feisty. He is ready for his stitches to be remove next Tuesday, but i want it to heel before then. He is still taking amoxcillian as prescribed by the doctor after his surgery to fight off infection. I am afraid if i bandage the area he might fight the wound off too. Any suggestion will be helpful for this worry mommy.

| Ask your vet for some pain meds. It makes them sleep more & makes them more comfortable to get through their ordeal until the stitches come out. I also bought baby onsies tht snap at the bottom. The girls couldn't get to the stitches with that on. I bought them at the dollar store. They peed a few, but I bought several.

| When My Peanut was licking . I gave him Children Benadryl for the itching. If that doesnt work take him back to the Vet for a shot.Maybe if you put something moist like antibiotic ointment on the stitches that will help with the itching. I hope he feels better soon

| My Vet gave me a spray to put on it that tastes bad to them. You might ask your vet if he has this
