| Question, is my little girl not gaining enough weight?? Jewelina was 1 pound 6 ounces when I got her at 9 weeks. She'll be 14 weeks this Tuesday and only weighs 1 pound 10 ounces. I have a postal scale and weigh her on it weekly. Sometimes after she eats when her belly is full it'll register her as 1 pound 13 ounces but after she goes to the bathroom it drops back down. She eats like a little piggy and I free feed her so she's allowed to eat as much as she wants but I am always so worried about her weight because it doesn't seem like she gains very much at all I asked my Vet about this and he said she's healthy and I shouldn't be worried as everything looks great on here and that sometimes they have growth spurts. He also said that some of them just stay small and he thinks she's just going to stay small and be around 3 pounds or so. I guess I just worry though, Jaden eats like a bird and will just peck at his food off and on throughout the day and he weighs 4 pounds but Jewelina eats all the time and seems to never gain any weight. They are both on a really good 5 star all organic food and have supplements and plenty of fresh water. I just don't understand why she isn't gaining weight? Should I be concerned? She runs around ALL of the time and has SOOOOO much energy, even more than Jaden does. Her ribs aren't sticking out or anything like that, she's just about the same size as when I got her and she was only 9 weeks then... I was just wondering if anyone else had a case similar to mine and if they did anything special to help them gain weight? Any info would be wonderful!! |

| I'm sure she will be fine, if your vet confirmed she's healthy and all. She has lots of energy, and sounds full of bounce. She might get a few growth spurts later on. |

| Hi, try not to worry I'm sure she's fine. If your vet thinks she is ok and she's acting fine, then she's probably perfectly healthy I have two girls. The one is 2 lbs. fullgrown at almost 2 years. I didn't get her until she was close to 1 yr. old and she weighed 1 lb 8 or 9 oz. She eats like a piggy also and is still only weighing 2 lbs. Some just stay tiny and yes they absolutely make you worry Your little one is still so young and could have a few growth spurts yet. My other yorkie I think up to 4 months stayed at 2 lbs. and then all of a sudden had two growth spurts. The breeder told me she was going to be 5-6 lbs. and I honestly didn't think it was going to happen. Well, she's 1 yr and almost 5 mths. now and weighs 5 lbs. Try not to worry, your doing everything right
