Darla did the same thing..I let her sleep it off in her travel crate where she felt safe and she slept for a few hours and was fine and back to her old playful self in no time...she just didnt want to be touched at all...so we didnt..hope all is well with your baby soon.. Dawn |

My vet recommended giving Tylenol to my dog. In fact, I had been giving children's Motrin and he said to give the Tylenol instead. I know too much can cause liver problems and even red blood cell problems (for humans too, if overused), but have seen no actual medical info that occasional doses will hurt dogs. I know you should NEVER give Tylenol to cats -- it can be lethal to them. But dogs? I have only used the Tylenol once but after some internet sleuthing, I feel like it is probably safe to use as directed by the vet. They even make specific Tylenol+Codeine for canine use when they need pain meds after surgery as such. If anyone has a medical reference please post! I find one place that says Tylenol is the safest, then aspirin, then ibuprofen. Then I find another that says aspirin is safest. Hard to know what they can have for pain or fever. |
3 years ago i had a rescue and one of my own that had pain like this after injections. Now my vet puts an antiflamatory in with the injection for each of mine. Some dogs have reactions similar to what you are experiencing and some don't. To be on the safe side the extra money for the antinflamatory med is worth it to not see my kids in pain. Janie |

If I were you I'd take your baby to the vet 2x next time, a couple days apart, and have only 1 vac shot done per day. |
My vet also reduced the rabies shot because of his size... i know not all vets will do this but these dogs are so small they don't need the same dose as a huge dog...the Rabies shot is given the same dose no matter the size of the dog. Ask your vet to give a reduced amount and see what they say. |
yeah, she is fine. I spoke with the vet and they told me 1/2 of a baby asprin. that did the trick and she hasn't missed a beat since :) thanks for all the advice, everyone!! |
