Target had baby gates on Clearance! The one I got was Evenflo Simple Effort Plus for $12.98!!! I was so excited, finally down to something I could afford. I had a really hard time getting that thing up in the doorway, as I never had children or a gate before. Soon as I had it up, she walked RIGHT THROUGH then end bars! Right now, I have duct tape over them till I figure out something else to put inbetween them. And I really though I'd hit the jackpot there. It did have a pic of a dog also on the box, but it was a larger dog. Oh well, even the gate with duct tape on the end bars looks better than that piece of plywood I was using!

| That's great! Boy am I dumb. I just bought a gate at the last minute at Pet Smart for $30. I didn't think of looking at baby gates.

I bought the same one with the plastic grate,Rosie chewed right through it and make an opening just the right size to get hung up in it.Mine went right in the dumpster when that happened. They really aren't designed for small dogs at all.

I saw several different types. I knew Venus would chew through the plastic, so that one was out. She's also chewed wood recently, so that one was out too. I had to "fix" a bedroom suite she chewed at my uncles just last week, on our 2 week stay. No wood either. The one I got was metal. She's never ate through metal (yet, lol). Now that the duct tape has been up since yesterday afternoon, she hasn't walked through it again. She's attempted in several spots but never got through. Seems everyone they had was $12.98 though. All same price that I saw.

Thanks for the heads up! We've been using a wood one to block the kitchen, but I need one for the den too!
