| Can someone please explain this to me?? I was just wondering if anyone could please explain something to me. I was reading through the classified forum, and I know that there are people who breed and sell yorkie puppies, but I can just never wrap my mind around how, when the dog is retired, after years of having them, someone can sell their dog?? I am not trying to offend anyone, but don't you get attached?? I couldn't even IMAGINE giving up my dog. Even if it is a business, how do you part with an animal you have had for such a long time??? |

| I honestly couldn't let go either but I'm not a breeder and don't know whats all involved. Maybe because they feel they don't have the quality time and feel that they should go to a forever home so they get the attention and love they really deserve? If this is the case I really do respect them for doing this because they know whats best for the dog. But this is a great topic and would also love to know how can they do it. I think I would have a farm of furkids because I just couldn't let go. |

| I could never breed cuz I couldnt let the pups go, much less the adults that I have grown attached to. I have a friend who raises shephards for show and she says it is different from a "pet".... they have "pets" and "dogs"... its kinda strange d

| I guess from a business stand point if you're a breeder, you may not be able to keep every dog that you retire. To keep the business flowing they may have to sell or give away the older yorkies to loving families. Not just for money but for space. Over several years you'd have a whole house full of yorkies, I guess you could keep them all with a nice big ranch.
