| Tip For Leaving Them Alone Well the semester is starting once again and my little Peeka Boo will become independent for the first time. For the past few weeks I've been leaving him for increasing intervals of time to help him get used to it, BUT today he had a FIT. I'm wondering what changed, and I realized that I forgot to leave my socks out there near his bed lol. So the tip is, leave either your nightshirt, or a sock or two out where they'll be left alone so they'll have your smell. Peeka Boo loves my socks, he'll steal them right off my feet, but you can decide whatever clothing is best(and no loss if it gets a little chewed.). LOL, its probably an obvious suggestion, but I never thought a sock would make that much of a difference. |

| When daddy is at work, Piper will go into the closet & get his slipper & drag it around. If I'm gone, she would go into the laundry & drag a dirty pair of my undies out. I now shut the laundry door & leave my nightie out for her. I usually come home to find the girls on the bed snuggled on our pillows.

| sometimes I will say "where is maggie" and sure enough, 9 times out of 10 she is in the bathroom sleeping on my laundry. if the bathroom door is shut, she will sleep on top of my pj's that I leave next to my bed. it is always something of mind she is snuggling on. the other day, my pillow was on the floor (i must have slept rough that night LOL) and I could not keep her off of it. I left it there because she loved it so much!! I think it is just so sweet how they love our smell. it just shows that they want to be near us all the time.

| I tried leaving my tshirt in AprilLoves crate when she was small to give her comfort (she was gated in the kitchen with crate open, food and litterbox). Well, the first few weeks she was very mad when I left!!! She kept peeing on my clothes!!! lol. So I stopped doing that and just made sure she had plenty of toys and such. Now she loves going through my laundry and has no problems with me leaving because she knows I always return

| Izzy has a fit when I leave too. I leave him in my bedroom with his crate, food, pad etc. I usually give him a treat and leave a sock or a shirt with him. I give him the treat right when Im walking out of the door. Some days he is good other days, I will come home and there is always a poop present at the door. I also leave the radio on. The funny thing is, he doesnt start whining or yelping until I open the door. Ive listened outside of the door and it is so quiet...soon as I come in he starts crying. He's 5 months...do they ever stop doing this?
