| Bad Gas!!! Help!!!!!! Okay, I know all dogs have gas but my goodness!! Lately, my Sebastians gas has been ridiculous. I decided to post a thread because I just wanted to know could this be a sign of something else or could it be just BAD GAS!!. I have also noticed him burping more. Almost like a wet burp because he tends to spit up a little when he does that. The other night, after he finished eating he threw all of it up. The only thing that has changed about his diet is that he just turned 1 and I am wheening him off the puppy formula to the adult formula. He has started Doggy Day Care and I thought maybe he was a little stressed out from all of the excitement. But those are the only two major things that has changed. Should I be concerned or am I just a worry wart? He passes gas all day long and I swear it wakes me out of my sleep sometimes because he sleeps with me. I know all of this sounds disgusting but before I go and waste money at the vet, I thought maybe some of you could give me some feedback. Can dogs have acid reflux and heartburn? I don't know, it's starting to bother me because his gas has never been so foul or so often.. What do you think?

| I think some dogs just have worse gas than others but if you think it is a problem I would ask your vet about it

| The only time my boyz had this problem was when I tried to switch them over to Merrick's and the gas was just horrible! What brand are you switching him to? Be sure you aren't trying to switch him too fast. Also, do they feed them or give them treats at day care? |

| He is staying on the same brand which is Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul. (the hard kind). I have instructed the Day Care not to give him any treats at all. He still has the tendency to want to put things in his mouth from time to time. What is the proper way to wheen him off the puppy formula. I have been giving him half & half. Lately I have been giving him more adult formula than puppy formula. How long do I do this for?

| layla also has HORRIBLE gas... sometimes i can't stand it! however i am pretty sure it is because of her diet change... i have added wet food in the morning so i can give her olive oil for her dry skin and missing link. during the day i try to give her carrotts and other "ruffage" to help make her poop firm to help with the anal glads... so it's give and take for us.. bad gas but a happy bum! good luck.. if his poops are ok i'm sure things are fine.. just gotta breathe through your mouth! |

I would give my vet a call if I were you, just incase. Howie gets gas when he's been chewing on his bully stick for a long period of time.
