Norman was weighed last week and...at 10 months old he's almost 7.5 lbs! He humbly requests that his application for admission to the Teapot Club be considered. He does refuse, however, to sit still for a photo of his svelt and muscular frame! |
Welcome Yano and Brew ! :welcome4: |

1) The required picture did not accompany the application. 2) "Almost 7 1/2 pounds" is a bowel movent and a vigorous walk away from falling under the minimum limit of 7 pounds -- especially for an athlete like Norman. 3) When doubt exists, we are forced to delay final approval of the application until Norman reaches 1 year of age. We truly hope to add Norman if he maintains his weight until his birthday. |
Please send a picture of the 1/2 pound bowel movement directly to alaskayorkie for approval... |

Teapot application for my little man 2 Attachment(s) Hi, im new to YT and owning a yorkie, my poor baby is kind of a misfit in my family and here is why 1. Hes a boy...I have 3 little girls...we couldn't have a little boy so I bought one. 2. He is a small dog...we have 3 large dogs in the backyard 2 in which are 90+ 3. His poor ears won't stick up for anything 4. He has a cottony soft coat...hoping it will change 5. He is 5 months and already weighs 9.4lbs I would like to think he qualifies for the teapot club but you all let me know :-) |

Yet there is a pride his eyes and his posture. He shows no shame, even at the difficult age of 5 months. He has what it takes to be a teapot. Though the Benevolent Elders of the Teapot Club and Secret Society often deny membership until a Yorkie is 1 year of age because of the whole baby-fat issue, they feel confident that this sweet pup will never waste away to mere Normal or Teacup status. The age clause was waived. Unfortunately, your application was incomplete, and we must deny your dear pup's entry into our secret society. All Yorkies in the club must have a NAME, and one was missing in your application. Feel free to reapply in 2 years to see if our bylaws have changed -- or any time sooner if this adorable pooch gets a name he can call his own. |
Im sorry i failed to put his name...it is Link until he steals my 17 month olds toy from her then he gets the full Lincoln in a stern voice and drops it..lol. I am hoping he does not drop his weight for he is the perfect size for his personality. I love his coat it is so soft just very difficult to keep detangle even with the 3-4 brushings he gets a day. |
I forgot to add that we would not change or trade him for the world we love him dearly...He is our baby boy!!! |
I keep reading the reply and cant help but say i am not discriminating or foisting anything upon him. I had to beg my hubby for a small dog which was my choice to get a YORKIE, then i had the choice of male or female in which i chose male. In my post i was just stating the differences in what makes him so special to me! |

And, LOL, stop reading my reply. It was made with the sole intention of making you laugh! Anyone with 4 dogs obviously loves them! |
Sorry, I guess im just on edge today. im a stay at home mom and kids driving me nuts today...lol... Just a question...do you think Links coat will turn silky when the puppy coat grows out or should i give in and cut it down instead of fighting the tangles? His head seems silky but his body is so soft. |

I'm no coat expert, having only seen a couple Yorkies grow up. One of mine is cottony, and the other silky. Both had nearly identical hair when they were pups, kinda rough and tangly as you describe. On both of them, I gave up and shaved them at a certain point. The silky one grew in silky and the cottony one was easier to manage. I will say that my silky one had softer hair on the head first, so maybe you are looking at a silky one. That puppy hair can be aggravating, and I'm not sure what the advantage of not cutting it is. My suspicion is it doesn't suddenly turn silky, but it grows out silky. People gave me a hard time for shaving mine, but it was instantly easier to care for -- and it grows out. It always grows out. |
Thanks for the info and i am sorry i took the reply wrong. I ask you about the coat bc i noticed that you have experience with each coat and i cant seem to find any info on it anywhere else. you were very helpful. Thanks for accepting Link into the teapot club! I will keep posted on his weight...and coat for that. |
