Unfortunately, because of longtime persecution by the Ruling Teacup Community, which does not allow us Teapots in their exclusive dog shows, we do not gather for parties in public for fear of retribution.

Membership in the club, however, assures a front-row seat at the party when the Teapots take over the Yorkshire world.

My name is Lou Lou and I regard myself in the super teapot league at a whopping 17lbs.... I am almost 3 years old and have a little yorkie boyfriend called Charlie who is about 7lbs ( I like them small so I can henpeck him) . I am super confident ( well I have to be in a household of 2 Irish red setters). I may be a bit chunky but there is sooooooooooooo much more to love.

Traditionally, the Elders say, colors for home games are blue and gold. Away game colors are black and tan.

However, cheerleaders are allowed to choose their own colors to accentuate their naturally occurring colors.

I wonder if I need an official number to join. Cook weighed 6.75 lbs when we had her spayed in November, and she has put on probably 1-1.5 lbs since. But no official weight since my bathroom scale isn't accurate to more than 2-3 pounds or so (I can literally step off and right back on and be +2 lbs or -2 lbs pretty easily). Do I need an official vet weigh-in for my Cookie Monster to join your secret society?

My Rolo is 6 months old in just a few days and he's already 10 lbs :D Love him just the way he is, he's so loving and cuddly :) I'm curious what his weight will be when he's an adult!

Cookie Monster assuredly has all the right stuff to be in the Teapot Club. However, since she is perilously close to the 7-pound limit imposed on us by Teacups, some sort of scale weight is required. It doesn't have to be documented at a vet. A neighbor's scale would be fine.

Rolo is adorable. Love the coloring at that age.

Cook and I are now ready to put in our formal application. Took her to the vet today (she bit into a toad and vomitted twice.... ARGGHH!!!) and she weighed in at 7 lbs, 3oz.

Description: Cook is an Amazing Yorkie from Deb Sillers' distinguished lines. Her father is Nemo (an AKC champion), and her mother is Sophie. Cookie is a little ball of energy whose interests include running, jumping, sniffing, digging in the yard, and hunting. She runs like the lightning and particularly enjoys long walks at the park, though she often drags her owner into runs on these trips. She knows how to sit, stay, speak, crawl, high five, and is pretty good at knowing left from right when you ask her for a specific paw. She loves giving barrage upon barrage of kisses. Deb sure knows how to raise a loving yorkie! Potty training was a challenge (Cook can be very stubborn at times), but she is now housebroken. She loves baths but isn't too much a fan of brushing. Whenever I eat something Cookie comes and kisses me so she can taste my meal, and whenever she eats she comes and kisses me to share the flavor of hers. The name Cookie fits pretty well since she's about the sweetest thing in the world. Please accept my teapot girl into your club, for she will be a valuable member in spreading the word about the greatness of the larger yorkie.

The Esteemed, Venerable and All-Powerful Elders of the Teapot Club and Secret Society have been looking forward to Cookie's official weigh-in because, frankly, she is among the most adorable Yorkies they have ever seen.

The 7 pound, 3 oz. weight at 10 months, however, brought a great deal of consternation from the skeptics on the Elders panel. That's one healthy bowel movement from the 7 pound cutoff. Never before have the Elders accepted a dog so close to the limit while still under one year of age. While they wouldn't want to discourage a dog from losing weight if it needed to, we don't need sub-7-pound spies in our ranks.

What to do, what to do.

The deciding factor was the accompanying video with Cookie's application. It was unprecedented and reinforced her perfect fitness and all-around adorableness. The Elders, looking for hard facts to back their opinions, reasoned that if she just bit into a nasty frog and vomited twice, it proves she had an empty stomach at weigh-in. A bowel movement couldn't be expected without more food, hence would not drop her below 7 pounds.

Therefore, after this long harangue, we are DELIGHTED to inform you that Cookie is in the club! She is on probation until she reaches 1 year of age, but we are confident we get to keep her. Just tell her to stay away from those icky frogs!

Cook is glad to be in, but she's warning me that she might fall off the teapot weight if I don't give her her normal dinner tonight! Doc's orders were a couple of teaspoons of canned bland wet food every 2-3 hours thanks to her toad-biting incident today! I think she's trying to con me though. Yorkies can be sneaky like that.

Ha ha ha. Don't give in to her. We overlook minor fluctuations. :)

What on earth inspired her to bite a toad HAHAHAHAHHA

Guess she was taking out her frustration and not being able to catch a squirrel nor a bird yet. And toads are easy targets since they move about half a mile an hour! I hope she learned her lesson. I tried really hard to make sure she didn't have to learn that lesson as a 3 or 4 pound pup and really didn't want her to until at least her first birthday, but I guess all dogs have to learn that toads taste horrible. Our rescue Minnie (ironically a 12 lb yorkie) knew to never mess with them, but we got her as an adult. Cook is still in that taste everything phase of puppyhood, though not as bad as the time from about 3-5 months thankfully.

That is just too funny.

Maybe she was trying to kiss the frog and find the prince but got carried away! :O

When I was a kid, we had an overweight Dachshund who was a couch potato and the melloest dog ever. But she turned into a frog hunter when we went to a lake loaded with them. She spent all day chasing and sometimes catching them on the beach. I was aghast even then.
