| Visit to Petland!!! We don't have Petland in Boston area, so I asked Patti to take me to Petland.. Her family didn't understand why I would want to go there but I had to since I hear so much about them on YT. There were about 4 yorkies there... they didn't even want to tell me the price of them at first without doing any paper work. I told them that I didn't want to do the paper work but wanted to know the price so I could plan for it. Then they told me the price. It was $1999 and they told em that there was no price difference between male and female. They looked all sad and sad and sad, definitely not healthy. They were also selling that it was going to come in package with crate and blah blah blah!!! Oh and one of the dogs crate (not the yorkie one) had a couple poop that the dog was with their own poop on their body. One of the dogs hair was shaved.... It was so awful. I mean you could get much healthier and better yorkies with less money..... I felt more grateful about finding this site and a wonderful breeder, Sylvan Yorkies Now Haruka wearing "No Puppy Mill" t-shirt

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | those poor puppies. That's sad they aren't even keeping them clean. No dog should have to sit in a cage in their own poo if there's a human there to clean them up. I HATE PETLAND WITH A PASSION. There I said it - yes - I HATE them. I hate that they buy from puppy mills and I hate that they sell dogs and profit from it. |

| Oh one funny thing that Patti found .. is on the yorkie description. They said that it is easy grooming or something like that... duh! I was trying to catch the name of the breeder.. but they were from MI.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Yeah they had the Breeders name on the paperwork and it was in Missouri. i felt so bad for all those puppies. Some were so sick looking and a few were getting pretty big and older and still in a tiny glass cage.

| Oh thats so sad, I have never seen any sick or dirty cages at the Petland stores around me. Thats terrible. And on the paper work there is the breeders names, on some , I have seen them before . My brother has a Petland puppy. well shes not a puppy now, but they got her as a puppy and even called and talked to the breeder because they wanted another puppy from the same parents. I would turn that store in if I was you. |

| Jack is a Petland puppy also. I guess God was really watching over us that day because he is a very healthy pup. The only problem he has is that he is very picky about food. We paid 1600.00 for him though and then a few months later when we got Bella from a breeder here in Texas, we only paid 1200.00 for her. Jack really was an impulse buy though. It was my little girls bday and she said the magic words...... "Daddy PLEASE! It's my birthday!" I wouldn't trade him for anything though. I love all 1600.00 worth of him!

| I am so sad to say that Yogi and Dori came from Petland too. I was so stupid then about knowing where they got the dogs from...but, I know now and would never ever do that again. Both of ours did come with the breeders name on the registration papers and I contacted Yogi's breeder(he's less than 40 miles from where I live) to ask about his parents. He still has them and told me exactly how he sells to a broker that works to find dogs for Petland. He also said thats all he sells to is brokers. I told him exactly what I bought him for and the conditions at Petland and that he had Kennel cough and became very sick the day after I bought him. I wanted him to know that. He did act concerned and asked me several questions. He called me back the next day and invited me to his kennel and said he would sell me a puppy if I wanted out of the same parents when she delivered again.. I can't do that..I did think about it, I'll be honest, but I can't and won't buy from a breeder that sells to a broker and then sells to a pet store. It all the same buying from anyone in the circle. I have to go to Dallas once a month, and I stop by Petland about every two months and just go in there to look and check out the puppies to see if any of them look sick or neglected. I haven't seen it so far. It sickens me now........I did do background checking on Dori. She came from Missouri from a breeder that I can't find any contact information on, the rest of what I found out and some of it assumed from the bits and peices I read is too painful to think about. I think about it every time I look at her and makes me want to cry. We still have to educate ppl about where these pets come from and how the process works. This is the only way it will stop! I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world now, they are a huge joy in me and my husbands life.

| That's so sad. Poor little puppies. I've been to the Petland here where I live and they all looked really sad also. I was convinced some of them were silkies, because they were really big, but they were all marked as Yorkies. I'll never go in one again.

| Which Petland??? Which petland did you go too? I went to the one in Roundlake last summer (my bf was about to buy me one from their until I stopped him) and they let me see the pups and everything w/o paperwork. They also had the prices of the puppies on the cages, kinda like how it is in fishstores...the type of fish then the price. You shoulda brought Haruka and put her "No puppymill" shirt on her! That wouldve been great!

copied in case people don't click the link MONDAY provided. While healthy, wonderful dogs are exterminated by the millions in shelters due to lack of homes, pet stores like Petland continue to sell puppies as fast as they possibly can, making weekly orders from the Hunte Corporation. Hunte puts these tiny, frightened, helpless, and fragile puppies in cramped cages on its trucks and takes them on the bumpy, unhealthy ride to pet stores up to 1,000 miles away. These puppies can die quickly, but their parents endure a lifetime of suffering as they spin, chew, dig, bark, and finally give up all hope of escaping the misery of puppy mills. The Hunte Corporation is currently the largest puppy broker in the U.S. It is based in Goodman, Missouri. It buys puppies from puppy mills in several Midwestern states and then sells them to pet stores all over the country, including many Petlands. | |

I didn't want Haruka to be outside of the bag because of all the sick puppies.. They told me the price without paperwork after I asked a couple times...
