| shih tzus and yorkies have any of you got them together and how do they get on? whats the main difference between them personality wise? i should be getting a 19 month old shih tzu in a couple of weeks, the lady who had her moved from the uk to germany then she wanted to move back to the uk but in france the vet messed up the pet passport so she had to leave her in france for 6 months in a doggy hotel and in the meantime the lady had to move to a flat where no pets are allowed so had to put her up for rehoming so i offered to take her. she sounds a sweet little soul but as i havent had any other breed b4 except yorkies i posted on the yorkies brothers and sisters bit to find out about shih tzus and got a lot of help but i wondered if any one else could tell me about theres on here. her name is sweetpea but as shes been in french kennels for 6 months in not sure if she will still no her name so may have to change it any ideas? i have tye and zac that go together so kind of thinking something that goes with brandi.

| I have a yorkie and shih tzu and they get along great most of the time. They do have an occaisional squabble over toys but other than that they're great. The biggest difference is that Ali (shih tzu) isn't nearly as demanding as Lucy. Also, Lucy has much more energy than Ali. Sometimes I actually think that Ali has no personality because there's no room for her to have one because Lucy has it all. Anyway, I don't think their getting along or not getting along is as much a breed thing as a personality thing. Hope everything works out for you and enjoy her. |

| I don't own a shih tzu, but the neighbors upstairs have one, Pepper's 7.5 mo, she's about 4 or litle more. They LOOOOVE playing together, but she's already almost twice as big and strong as he is.... I know shih tzus are bigger dogs, but she seems sweet and playful as well. Oh, and the neighbors have been pretty successful in potty training her.

| My cousin has a s**t zu and she's at my house all the time playing with my two just fine. Both my babies are Yorkies and they fight with eachother over toys all the time so I don't think its a breed thing. Last night mine were fighting...I think they were just getting on eachothers nerves and most of the reason is that Mimi (my girl) does not like to share. The funny thing is that when she cannot find Timmy she runs around the house crying and when she sees him she gives him kisses. So they can't live without eachother but just have their differences every once in awhile. I think everything will work out great with your new baby. Keep us posted. |

| We have a shihtzu and a yorkie. Our shihtzu has a very laid back type of personality. Sometimes our Yorkie is too hyper for him so if the Yorkie is annoying him too much the Shihtzu lets him know but never hurts our Yorkie. |
