| Sad Puppy About a week ago my roommate finished college packed up her, and her silky terrier, Jack and headed home leaving me and my yorkie Zoey alone. I Love living alone, but Zoey is really sad. I have been trying to play with her all of the time and take her as many places as I can, but all she does is mopes around and runs to the empty bedroom and sits there and cries... What do I do? I can't get another dog, but there has to be something that I can do to help her get over it, right? Also she use to be a very independent puppy but now she never leaves my side and when I go to work she cries and cries... I live in an apartment building and the other day when I got home from work I had a note on my door saying that Zoey barked and cried all day long... I feel so bad for Zoey. Is there any advice out there to help? Thanks, Amy & Zoey |

| She will get better but it will take time. Could you take her to day care or something? These babies need time to adjust to new situations, so maybe just keep on doing what you are and she will soon get over the blues... |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I know you said you cannot have another dog - but is that for sure ? Can you adopt one maybe from the spca that will be able to keep her company? I felt so bad reading your post...I hope she feels better soon. |

| A kitten is sometimes easier than a dog. Can you get a little cat for her to play with when you are gone?Is there a person with a small dog in your complex you could make friends with? The doggy day care option is a good possibility if she loves to play with other dogs and you can find one that you rust and is right for her. |

I agree with the no new pet thing... However I think i might look into a puppy day care even if I only leave her there for a short time, and I think that I will also start paying closer attention to the dogs in the building and see if she could make some new friends... Thanks for the advice! Amy & Zoey | |
