| I just thought I'd put your mind at ease a bit. Maddie used to do that "coward" thing when she was a tiny puppy and I'm sure she was never abused by anyone. It's likely that Candi is cowarding just because she doesn't yet completely trust you. I also hope she wasn't abused. Who could abuse a little doll like that!

| OMG That is the cutest little face. I agree with the love and attention to bring her out of her shell. Maybe after her seeing you with your other pup she will get to know you are a wonderful mom and want to be around you moreand not be so nervous. Good luck and congrats. |

| Congrats on your new baby. Her face is gorgeous especially her eyes! I think a puppy cut will make her look all neat and good.

| How big is that sweet little girl? She looks so small. I think once she's with you a while and eating a good diet, her hair will probably fill in. I don't know how you came to get her but if they sent her to you dirty she probably wasn't taken care of or fed very well. I'm sure that all that's in the past now that she's with you. Once she's feeling at home with you and being taken care of properly she'll probably be a different dog. |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Awww, my goodness, she is totally ADORABLE!! Although I will admit, she does look VERY different from the last pic! BUT - what a sweet, angelic little face she has! After a warm bath, and a good brushing - she should look even better though Putting her on a good quality food will help also And putting some Missing Link on top of her food wouldn't be a bad idea But I can tell you this - whatever you do, it won't take much at all, because she ALREADY a total DOLL!

| Piper was very thin & loosing her hair when we got her. She had giardia, which causes anorexia. Which was causing her hair to fall out. Once we got her on meds & disease free, she started gaining weight & her hair came back. The Vet suggested Boiled chicken for protein. Her hair now is beautiful, but she turned into a piggy. She was 1.3 lbs at 14 weeks. Now at almost 10 months she weighs 6.4 lbs. Your baby is beautiful, hope the vet can determine whats up with her. |

| Just a suggestion I saw on the Dog Whisper that with these types of situations you might want to take things in a different direction. He said you should sit on the floor with your back to them (when they are in there crate) do not look them in the eyes (and they should have on a leash, I think) and allow them to come to you. This develops trust from a untrusting abused animal. You might want to see if you can go to his website and see about ordering his tapes and books. The way he stated it love and affection are not enough... sometimes it doesn't do a neglected and abused dog any good. You can give them all the affection and love you can muster but it won't cure their fear. Hope this helps point you in the right direction for some answers and help. |
