Do most of you trim their rears and belly areas to keep them from getting messy? It rained here yesterday and she gives me a fit about going out when its wet.

Isn't it great that spring is here, and the babies can learn all these new things, like, what bugs are the most fun to chase, the different noises the birds make that perk up their ears, and their first sights of rabbits, deer, possums etc. We even have an armadilla in our area that Jack watches like a hawk in the morning, (while the little bugger is digging in my Hostas).I need to train him to chase him off, LOL, I know that they are originally bred for rat hunting, but an armadilla would be tough with his armor.

We did have a great day in my little car! Toto doesn't have many opportunities to see other animals. We have an enclosed courtyard with a planter around the inside where we had recently planted flowers & herbs. If I leave the screen open a bit Toto can go out and play. The other day the screen was closed and she was sitting, gazing outside when suddenly she barked [she seldom ever barks]. I looked out and there in my planter sat a huge yellow cat munching on the parsley!! Toto was so excited! Late that night she barked and woke my husband who heard the blood curdling scream of a cat! Patrick went with Toto to look in the courtyard and there was nothing there but the next morning he noticed that my tumbleweed, which I had put in the corner of my planter, looked like something had been in the middle of it [it has big stickers on it!]. We figure that "yellow cat" jumped over the wall to have more parsley and landed right in the middle of the prickly tumbleweed!! I hope he wasn't injured but am happy to say that we have had no more visits from "yellow cat"!!

Toto is 22 months ... will be 2 yrs. July 18! I cannot believe that we have had her this long ... seems like only yesterday! Time does fly when you're having fun! She was 4 months when we brought her home. I began brushing her as soon as we got her and brush her almost daily. I cannot remember when it actually started getting any length ... her hair grows a little slow. She has had her length, I believe, for about a year. I am seriously considering a puppy cut for summer and to give her a break from all this hair! It will certainly grow back and I only have to get "second opinions" from our breeder & Dr. Lucy! Patrick really doesn't want it cut and reluctently agreed IF I first find a professional photographer and get some good pictures first! He is very proud of his little girl ... guess who does all the grooming?? Don't worry about Tiny's hair ... just keep it brushed often and it will grow before you know it.

Thanks!! Toto also has a little nub also [about 1 - 1 1/2"] ... what looks like a real tail is really just lots of long hair! You can really tell when she has her little tail up, but she was being pouty that day and wouldn't hold it up!! What a moody girl she is!
