| neutered pup Well my baby Rex who most of you know is my little Morkie (half maltese, half yorkie) got neutered today. It is so odd to see this little hyper 5month old pup sleeping in agony. when i picked him up with my mom i could not bear to put him in his cage (he will sleep in it but he will cry at first) so i pulled out his little bed and his blankey then i put him in it gently, and took it to my room. once in my room he lay down onn his bed i draped the blanket over him and the bed (leaving a big airhole of course) now as i type this he is in a deep sleep and is scared that you will hurt him again if you pick him up to fast. Does anyone have any tips how to make his experiance a little more soothing for him and maybe allieviate (sp) the pain a little i feel so sad for my Rex Last edited by Rex'z momma; 05-13-2005 at 12:16 PM. |

| Don't be to worry about him , tomorrow he'll be better . Gioia my little girl have been spayed and she was acting like him . The next day she was on her 4 paws and playing . If he don't show signs of distress , he is ok . To be scared is normal , It was probably his first experience of being left alone in a strange place . Gioia didn't want to eat the first day but as I said It came back . He will be well soon . |

| I'd give him 1/2 a baby asprin. That's what I gave Stewie when he got sick from the rabies shot and it made him less achy.

| He will probably be back to normal tomorrow. I had Tino neutered a few months ago and experienced thing the first night. All he did was sleep, but by the next day he was fine and didnt need the pain med at all. I think they gave him Metacam. My biggest piece of advice to watch him like a hawk that he doesnt lick his incision. Tino did and I didnt realize that it would open the wound, so we had to go back the next day so they could seal him back up. They used the dermabond on his incision. Honestly the hardest part was to keep him distracted from licking himself down there! Good luck & I hope Rex is feeling better in the morning! |
