My furkids Donating Member | need to tell you about the "Bully pretzels" I replied to a post but thought I would mention this in a thread of it's own. Last week Sadie brought her bully pretzel into bed with us...I could hear her chewing on it but, she sounded funny...I got up and put the light on and she was choking on it!!!! I didn't think they could chew pieces off...I went to grab her to see if I could get it out of her throat and she coughed up a piece the size of a quarter and on the size of a half dollar!! I nearly had a stroke! I grabbed her and she was fine but, I took the pretzel away....she won't be getting another one unless I am holding her while she is chewing it...Lillie hasn't gotten any pieces off of it.......yet....but, the only way she will be chewing is if she is being held also...THANK GOD... Sadie was able to get those pieces out herself...we are over an hour away from the ER vet and we never would have made it....just a word of caution on ANY chewy...watch your babies!!!! even if you are told they can't bite off large pieces....they can. Just an FYI for everyone.

| I am so very glad that this scary choking situation resolved itself. We all need to be so very careful when our kids chew. |
