Please contact me with any info littlebit789@yahoo.com | Hello and welcome! Since I've been on here everyone had opinions on the term teacup. So if a person wants a smaller yorkie, smaller than standard, what should we call them? The term is advertised so much, it's what you see when you go on most websites. I searched for an entire year before I got Kodak. I wasn't looking for a purse dog, I just wanted one small enough for my apartment. I was referred to the breed because of non shedding etc. I found a breeder and I didn't ask for a certain lb., I just asked for a small pet. The breeder educated me, but then offered me a tiny male that she had. Because there can be health problems, she kept him a while before selling him to me. She had a 1yr health guarantee and Kodak is 3lbs at 2yrs old. I've had no problems & regular checkups and standard vet costs. She said people would refer to him as teacup but it's just a term used.
My question would be: Should I have not gotten him because she shouldn't sell tiny dogs as teacups? I guess I take it wrong when people say steer clear of breeders who advertise teacups. In an advertising sense, the term teacup sells, so Is it not ok to want one? It's scary, because I've been searching for a female and I don't want her to be bigger than Kodak. Most sellers I contacted had puppies that will be standard size, but mentioned there may be a tiny one in the litter. A lot of people on here have tiny ones to.:) |
