Sorry, but if that is a rare red yorkie, I am a rare purple kangroo. I have seen a lot of yorkies, and even the red ones, which are mutations of the color genes in the yorkie.

Ha! That's such a contradiction! How are they going to advertise a dog as rare and then say that it has show potential?! Isn't the whole point of show dogs is that it should be the ideal example of the breed standards?! Yikes! She is SO cute though...

Interesting read. My Yorkie is red and had a brother that looked like the one in the photo. They have and old gene according to the link and the red ones hair grows very slowly. Mine is AKC, is red legged and his hair does not grow fast. Also he has some brindle striping and party markings.

I'm not sure why you think that puppy is "red" looks like a normal puppy to me and puppies don't have long flowing hair.

What you have there is not a red Yorkie, it is a "red legged Yorkie." Quite different from what was posted in the OP's original post. The dog in the first post looks like a poodle mix to me.
