Donating YT 11K Club Member | Size Formula Research I'm doing some research on how effective the formula is to determine the adult weight of your yorkie. They say you triple the weight at 8 wks, and double it at 12 wks. Can you please help me in answering these questions. How much did your yorkie weigh at 8 wks old? 12wks? And finally what is it's/their adult weight? Teddy weighed 1.4 lbs at 8 wks, 1.8 lbs at 10 and 2.2 at 12. He is now 5 1/2 mos old and 5 lbs. London is almost 10 wks and she's 1.2 lbs. |

| Debbie was 1.7 at 12 weeks, 2.7 at 7 months, 2.9 pounds at 15 months. I think each yorkie is an individual and it's hard figure out their growing patterns. |

| Dylan was 1.2 lbs at 8 wks and 1.8 lbs at 12 wks. He is now 11 mths old and weighs 5.5 lbs so he got a lot bigger than the chart estimated 3.6 lbs. I love his size though and am glad he didn't stay so small. |

| Weight isn't the whole issue though. Archie and Willie actually weigh almost the same - 3 lbs 5 ozs and 3 lbs 2 ozs at 5 months, but Willie looks much smaller. He has a smaller body and shorter legs. People are surprised when I tell them how close they are in weight. When I got them at 12 weeks, Archie was 2 lbs 7 ozs and Willie was 2 lbs 2 ozs. They seemed to grow a lot at first but have slowed down lately. I'm hoping they end up on the larger side though -- at least 6 lbs. I guess that unlike most people, we were looking for larger Yorkies when we were breeder shopping. Won't really matter what they weigh as adults so long as they are happy and healthy. |

Yea that is like Teddy. The breeder said he would be 3 lbs full grown and when I did the chart I estimated him to be about 4 lbs but he is 5 lbs now, or atleast I think, maybe even more because I haven't weighed him in like 2 wks. He's prob. 5.5 lbs. I can't believe when I look at him how tiny he was when he came but I don't care how big he is. He's so funny and I love him no matter what size. | |

| Well when I got Bailey the breeder said that Bailey would be around 4 lbs full grown but when I looked at the chart it is more of 5 lbs full grown so I guess we will see. Bailey is 2 lbs 5.oz at 3 months
