how fast does your yorkie eat a greenie?

Bought greenies before Nico came home and THEN read the horror stories! He never touched them! Into the garbage they went. It's just not worth it in my opinon! You can supervise them eating them but you sure can't supervise them digesting them!

my doggies love greenies.....my older pup has been eating them for about 3-4 yrs. I started feeding them to him before all the horror stories came out.
And it saved his teeth...w/o greenies he would prolly be toothless.
Johnny refused to eat anything hard..even regular dog food. (once he starved himself for days, so i stopped playing the you eat the hard food or else game with him)
When i rescued him, he had horrible horrible teeth...they wanted him to have the plaque removal procedure....vet said some teeth prolly would have to be removed too. and then we found greenies. A yr later his teeth were like new....the vet was amazed.
BUT they eat them supervised...i watch them the whole time.
PLUS it is very very important that you feed them the correct size.

I think it depends on the kid of dog you have too. If they are gulpers i wouldnt recommend it.
Since they changed the formula i havent heard any negative stories, thank goodness.

My Chloe had them for 7 months everyday.... the right size, was not a gulper at all. Then one day....it was too late. My mom even warned me of all the bad stuff about them and I didnt listen I thought, oh well, I'd always given my Chloe greenies and she was always fine. Like I said....One day it was all too late..... I still say NO GREENIES

Toto was addicted to them and I too ignored the warnings for quite some time ... even discussed it with our vet several times & he thought it would be OK. After a terrified trip to the ER when she choked on one we never gave her another and she went through withdrawal for two weeks. I dumped about 100 individually wrapped Greenies in the dumpster.

I would rather have a toothless Yorkie rather than one that is dead!!! Don't mean to be so brutal but the facts are out there on how dangerous these are/were. I too had just bought a large quantity of these, then all the neg stuff came out and in the garbage they went. JMHO

Yes, the new formula is much softer and can be eaten a lot faster than the old.

I'm just amazed cause I've asked two vets and several people that work in pet stores about them and they all say it's the owners who don't watch their dogs. They say that the dogs are either given the wrong size or the "like all chew toys" they should be taken away when they get small. I'm really surprised that vets are still recommending them...

My Chloes was supervised with them and had the correct size.... She didnt choke on them.... the problem is these things dont digest like they should so they build up in the intestines and cause blockage. This is something that you dont realize til its toooo late

Greenies never claimed to be 100 percent digestible until now. I've never used Greenies and can't blame some of you for never wanting to try them, but it's important to get the facts out there; they are a new formula. Joey likes Nylabones, but when purchasing some, I noticed one kind was not 100 percent digestible. Rawhide also shouldn't be used for this reason and I'm sure that there are other chew sticks that aren?t 100% digestible as well, so it's important to read the package.
