| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | That made me ill to read. I can't believe some people out there - I really can't. All the poor dogs forced to have puppies so some jerk can sell them and call it a designer breed. Thats a huge size difference and I really hope its not true. |

				   | Gives me the creeps To me, yorkies are perfect just like they are. Why can't breeders just breed yorkies to each other and stop playing around with genetics?

				   | I think they're going to look like labs grown up, just maybe with a little 'mix' added - coloring a little off, or the look of the face. I don't think it's possible for them to look like a Lab-sized Yorkie or a Yorkie-sized Lab, or a Yorkie with a lab head or anything like that... Such a 'creature' would be only created in a laboratory while playing with genes in the embryo stage.

				   | I believe it. I think the people are nuts to do this, but I do believe it. A friend of my daughter's just bought a puppy that is half poodle and half pug. The mother is a standard sized black poodle that weighs about 50 lbs and the father is a pug that weighs about 12 lbs. And this girl paid $200.00 for the puppy! It is the ugliest and oddest looking dog I have ever seen. It is so ugly, that now as a bumbling pup, he's cute; but once full grown he will be just plain ugly. This girl actually asked me if I would consider mating my female yorkie with her male half poodle, half pug! I took this with a grain of salt because the girl is only 22 yrs old, but I did tell her in the nicest way I could, that not only is it highly doubtful I would ever breed any pet of mine; but I also greatly encouraged her to have her dog neutered. |

				   | Many breeders can do AI on their own dogs also...I have seen one of my tiny studs try to breed a huge French Mastiff in season...she was brought to me for nail clipping...next thing I know she is laying down on her side and my boy has a perfect shot at her..I caught him in time...believe me you can breed some Yorkie studs to anything..even an elephant...wouldn't get any offspring of course, but mine would do it!! |

				   | Hon.. it's reality and that is the way a stud acts...it is his job to breed anything that stands still..well, they really do not need to stand still either...it is just plain old dog breeding..LOL I do not think it wise to mix the breeds, but dogs do not care... |

				   | I can't see why this CAN'T be possible. With so many mixed breed dogs running around I'd say it is very possible. it isn't like you are breeding a dog and a cat. I can not understand what the whole purpose is of this. Some people will try anything I guess. Doesn't make it right tho.

| Donating YT 14K Club Member | Very possible and it CAN happen. Cousin had a chi male tie with a female Vizla/lab cross and pups were the result. There is a lady here in town that has bred male yorkies with standard schnauzers and she sold the pups. It IS possible. Just because they aren't the same size doesn't mean that they can't produce. They are still the same species. That's the same as a little person having a child with a 6 foot adult. They can get pregnant and carry to term.
