| Naming My Yorkie Puppy Before I name our new Yorkie puppy I have a question I would like to ask all of my new Yorkie friends and I want an honest answer from you all because I hope to become a more active member of your group as soo as we get our new puppy in January. O.K. Here goes- Though I like to be different and have a few very different names in mind I keep coming back to a few names you all have chosen for your Yorkie babies that I really love. How do you feel about me choosing a name you have already named your Yorkie???? I would never want any of you thinking how terrible I am for taking your Yorkies name. Please answer back and please be honest as I really like you all. THANKS. I promise I will understand if you would rather I don't use a name you have chosen. |

| I can't speak for anyone else, but it wouldn't bother me in the least. I mean, shoot, there's only so many names in the world anyway Let the puppy "tell" you what it's name is You'll know after spending some time with him/her

| No matter how hard you try, it will be hard not to duplicate someone's name. Unless it is a close friend or family member, I wouldn't worry about using the same name. I didn't know anyone that had a dog named Lily until I joined this site! Now, I am excited when I see how many others have babies with her name. I think I may still have the only Elvis though.............

| It would not bother me in the least! I know your not referring to Buddy! Actually I wanted to name him Chester but my 3yr old granddaughter insisted on Buddy. Kind of boring name. Whatever you name your new baby be sure it's what you want. Good luck, Carol & Buddy |

| That is why we pick longer, more personalized registered names so they will have something unique. Like another poster already said -- hard not to duplicate a call name. I think I might have the only Ben here but, I am pretty sure somewhere else there is a Yorkie named Ben. I am naming my female Mercedes -- Sadie for short -- and I know I have seen others here with that name. Now if someone that I saw everyday used the same name, I might think it confusing, but it would not make me mad or anything. Name your baby what you feel fits her. She will be happy no matter what you call her.

| I think I have the only Tetley on this site, but another user has already asked if she could use the name and I said 'sure'! I think it would be an honor to know that someone else likes the name I chose so much that she would want to name her own pup the same. BTW - what are the names you're thinking of 'borrowing'? |
