| Breeder Advice for Newbie Hi Everyone! I'm new on YT, and I don't have a yorkie yet... I'm planning on purchasing my first yorkie baby from OhPuppyLove this summer. Does anyone have a yorkie from them? From my research, they look like a reputable breeder, and my conversations with them have made me feel very comfortable. Does this look like a good place to buy my yorkie? http://www.ohpuppylove.com/index.html I would really appreciate your help! Thank you so much! Anna |

| There is one paragragh on that site that would put up a red flag for me. "Suited for "all terrain family pets" that can share in outdoor-indoor activities. This include's but is not limited to:winter sledding, long hot summer picnics,boating/fishing,travel buddy,or work environments. " I would do more research if I were you. Good Luck!

| It would bother me that she has so many dogs. Way to many in my opinion.

| Boy - this is a hard one..... You have to admire their web site.... It is truly outstanding and very professionally done... They really do have a lot of dogs - I would guess they have $40-$50 thousand dollars worth of puppies for sale. So - this is a true business operation. And - they can really get you in the heart with all their cute names and cute pictures, etc. **** I think a lot of their puppies are a little high priced (by this, I mean they cost more than you probably really need to pay for a nice little Yorke pup.) Are you going to be able to actually see and hold whichever pup you decide to buy? Will it be shipped to you or are you going to be able to visit their kennels (you know for sure - they aren't raising all these puppies in their house.) The first 16 weeks of a puppy's life are the most important for socializing them. I notice that some of these puppies are several months old - and I would think that they haven't been in a close family situation yet. I think I would probably look around. You don't have your puppy yet - and there are so many places you can get one. Look around some more. **** If you do decide to get one here - for sure - get a lot of references (a lot - not just one or two!) and call these people and see if they are happy with the puppies they bought....or if they have had any problems. Good luck - Carol Jean |

| Hi, I totally agree with looking elsewhere. The website is nice, they may seem nice but I would be cautious. I would try to find a breeder that raises their puppies at home like their own pets. And the prices are a bit steep...$1500??! When I went looking for a puppy, I was leery about buying one online. So I found my breeder through the AKC website: http://www.akc.org/ Check them out, you can search for a breeder in your area. My breeder was great! She had the mother and father there and they were her own pets. The puppies were a part of the family. Ive had my puppy for a month and the breeder still asks about him. I send her pictures all the time. That is something to look at as well. Keep in mind you will have this pet for a good 15 years and they will be a part of your family. Good luck searching! -Karla |

| Looks like they let them go at 8 weeks old. I thinks this is too young and think they should have all their shots, especially being around all those other dogs. Time with mom to learn much needed social skills, etc. With all those dogs they are probably kept in cages. This is definitely a business first operation and usually decisions are made to protect the bottom line not in the interest of the dogs. I say keep looking. Take your time to find your right baby, it will be worth it! Good luck to you! |
