Male "marking" on everything!! - YorkieTalk.com Forums

For the past few week, my male yorkie has been marking everwhere. Indoors, outdoors, doesn't matter. He's market the neighbors yard, my rugs, my luggage, the laundry and even in his water bowl.

I don't get it. Why is he doing this all of a sudde, Every 30 seconds he's lifting his leg. Does this have anything to do with angel having puppies? He started it like a week before she delivered and he's still doing it.

Im getting very frustrated with his actions. This constant leg lifting has to stop!

If he isnt neutered then marking is normal..is he the father of the pups? If you have used him as a stud then the marking will probably be a permanent thing now,so I sugest belly bands whilst hes indoors as some breeders say that studs dont make good pets so they have to be confined.I have friends with male dogs that mark and its a habbit they dont usually get out of once they start.I would get some belly bands

My scrappy started doing that so i keep a good eye on him and so far no more marking in the house but out side he marks everything.

Yes he's the father. It was an accidental conception. I didn't know she was in heat at that point which was bad enough, but in the middle of watching TV, I look down and Prince was going to town on my little angel.

No he's not neutered. I planned on having that done in a few weeks. Will that not correct it?

Belly bands huh? I've heard of them but im not sure how they work.

Neutering MAY correct it,but its not certain.Iv heard of people that have had their males neutered but the marking didnt stop.I dont know where you can buy belly bands because I dont have males so maybe someone else can help you there,but I know that you can get them online.A belly band is like a wide belt that goes around their waist and coveres their winkie,when they lift their leg to pee the pad inside the belly band soaks it up..its like a diaper for males really.

ohh ok. I get it. He pee's on himself and has to sit in it. He'll hate being soaked there and eventually stop marking indoors.

Okie dokie. Im gonna search online for the best prices. Probably get a few different ones so I dont have to wash them every hour lol
