Legally take your dog anywhere??? I really get upset when I cant take my yorkie in places. I wouldnt bring her in mcdonalds or anything, but a coffee shop or craftstore. How can you legally get by with bring your dog everywhere. Definately your dog should be freshly bathed & not put down to do its business in a public area, but some places treat dogs like a disease, even when they say they are pet friendly. I know some people take their dogs everywhere because of health reasons, like the dog detects when sugar levels are to high/low or a seizure is coming on, what else ya got? |
get him to be a service dog . . .apparently it is very easy as I saw someone with a POM and that is what he told me. He said being with his POM is therapeutic :D so with a bit of paperwork, he takes him EVERYWHERE  |

I think they just need their Good Citizenship Certificate. But I'm still not sure that stores have to allow them if you are not in need of their service. Unfortunately dogs do not have the same rights as people. there are even some parks and beaches that do not allow them. Some people don't clean up after them and therein lies the problem. A few disrespectful people ruin it for everyone. Hell some people don't even clean up after themselves, leaving trash behind where ever they go. |
Oooooh you girls are gonna get in trouble with this thread!!! :p Some people get very upset when you suggest that you want to get your dog service trained just so you can take them everywhere and not actually have them provide a service. I, however, wish I could take my little guy everywhere!! More places, like craftstores, should be more dog-friendly. I know I stay home or spend less time shopping b/c I want to be with Howie more. |
I agree, people are just snobs when it comes to taking are babies into stores! I dont care, I just sneak her in! If your baby is in a carrier that looks like a purse, then go for it, worse thing that happens is they ask you to leave! lol |
Just ACT like your buying something really expensive ;) and if they say something be like fine then i'll just be putting this back.:D |

While traveling from Mobile, AL to Austin Tx, I got kicked out of 2 places, and I had him in my arms! One place, I'll never buy gas there again, woman was so chitty! Other place was a rest stop! They said I couldn't take him in the bathroom with me. I'm like "he's already done his business". Well, with 95 degree weather, I wasn't going to put him in the car! I drove down the road and did my business in the woods! People can get pretty ugly with you. I'd never sneak mine in anywhere. If they can't go in, I don't either. |

I suffered from depression for along time. Now that I have my yorkie I have been pretty good, but I do get depressed when I leave her home or have to leave her in the car. So she is a theraputic pet to me. I guess I was more wondering how to get the paper work. I have done all the other things you all have talked about, lol. Sometimes I will ask at a gas station or whatever when I go in I'll say I was gonna show you my puppy but wasnt sure you allowed pets & they say yea or nea, then I'll remember I can bring her in. Sounds like a visit to the doctor may get me a perscription & the proof would be in all the past visits I had for depression that I no longer need. Thank God for Yorkies & Beer, lol. Can I get a Amen! LMAO |
You know. I leave my car running w/air on in summer or heat in winter or just window cracked when weather permits, but its scarey I have one of those key chain push button locks & sometimes gets pushed by something in my purse & gets locked or unlocked:( worry. I was at walmart one day & someone had their boston in the car & someone stole it:eek: I would freak! I am w/you I would not put my dog down in most places & the few disrespectful people do ruin for us all. |
I have never been asked to leave anyplace as long as Jewels was in her carrier. I quess they just think it is a purse. Oh and I never ask I just take her in in the carrier |

I have carriers & a stroller. Once I was in a craft store & had been shopping for a while got in line & the lady in front of me said what a cute dog, she was in a completely inclosed pet stroller-The lady was ringing my stuff up & said she couldnt continue w/o me taking the dog out first. I wanted to say well screw you then. She had not made a ppep the whole time, no one ever new she was there-everyone thought it was a baby so they never even looked. I needed the stuff I got or I would have left it. But I have thought of going back & getting a cart load from all over the store then taking it up letting her ring it up then saying do you allowpets in here, oh well then I dont want this stuff. I try not to be so spiteful. they have some foods but they are all boxed or canned I dont even go in those isles. |
