Size of Yorkies

My yorkie Chewie is 15 pounds and beautiful. He was also suppose to be under 10. I don't think anyone really ever knows what size they will be. Look at us as people, we come in all sizes, too. My groomer says the average size of yorkie she sees at the salon are Chewie's size. They are wonderful pals no matter what size. Chewie is 1 year old. Enjoy your baby!

The pictures of your "sheepdog Yorkie" Look so much like my Sophie. They could almost be twins. Sophie has such thick black hair on her back that I comb every night. It is growing long now and past her chest and I am so afraid to have her trimmed. I don't want to lose that beautiful coat. Your yorkie is so cute. My Sophie loves to lick people to death. She also plays with my son's 3 Border Collies. It is so much fun to watch them play.

Zoe had the best personnality of all the pups out of the last litter. I've never seen a yorkie with so much hair and am dying to see how she turns out. I was delighted when my neighbors fell in love with her. She was 4.5 lbs. at 12 weeks so I told them she'd be about 9 lbs. grow and priced her accordingly. They also get free babysitting and I groom her from time to time. When you trim her feet they look like puff balls! I'd like them to let her coat grow to see how it will turn out but I don't know that they will. The weird thing is it never mats! It's straight and super thick and dull because of the fluff but never mats. She's a hoot!

I also have a larger yorkie. Toto weighs 10 lbs. and has a real pretty shinny
silky coat. I really didn't care how large he was going to be, just healthy!

here is my Tootie.. he weighs in at a WHOPPING 16 lbs! He is the MOST FUN pup in the world! Yes, we were told he would be 8-9 lbs, has floppy ears and not alot of hair(never been cut)... LOL.... he is just about the opposite of "standard" but I wouldnt have it any other way, I LOVE my baby boy!
My Hopey is a tiny little 4.5 lbs... but she RULES! haha

I nearly die everytime I see Sophie! She's GORGEOUS and one of my favorite YT Yorkies, her coat leaves me at a loss for words, seriously. I pray my next yorkie has a coat like hers.

My parents and grandparents both have larger yorkies. My parents have KoKo...she is 12 lbs...and my grandparents have Lucy...she is 10 lbs. Both are AKC registered and neither of their ears stand up. Here are pics of them:

Lots, and I mean LOTS, of YTers have what we like to call "teapot" yorkies, or yorkies that are over the standard or over 7+ pounds. We love them all the same!

He is so darn adorable, his face is precious! Also, my Tucker might be related to your little guy, I got him from brad also( I know for a long time he was using one stud for his females). He was 4.5 lbs at 1 year and the coat on his back didn't grown much, but the hair on his face was long.

My two girls are littermates, 8 yrs old, weighing in at 10 and 16. One was the runt and one was the biggest. They are purebred....adorable and we love them.

Daisy is 13 lbs at age 3 yrs. She sounds a lot like your description of Sophie. She is very solidly built, thick hair and floppy ears. We saw both parents and they were 7 & 8 lbs. There was one other pup in the litter and he was much smaller. She is not AKC and the breeder told us he thought she would be a bigger Yorkie. We love having a bigger Yorkie and wouldn't want it any other way now that we have her. She is a real blessing in our lives.
