| How Rude!!! lately i have been searching for a puppy for my friend after she fell in love with my Oscar. She is such a wonderful person and animal lover and after her cat of 6 years just passed i knew that it would be a great time to bring some more love into her life. well unfortunately we've pulled together only 500.00 dollars. so i get online and start contacting the local breeders (within 350 miles) and am calling and emailing them to see if they have a little girl available and if they have one that they would take 500.00 dollars for. i start looking through the responses and am getting discouraged b/c no one has a female and those that do, cant do anywhere close to 500.00. then i open up this email and it says : NO GET ONE FROM THE POUND. i was so embarrased and humiliated! not only do i check the pound and local rescues everyday for puppies and dogs that need homes... but how can they think that they are too good to even send me a civilized response? im not crazy i know how much these dogs are worth... but every once and awhile you get lucky and find one that needs a home and fits your price range. Oscar cost me only shipping b.c he had a hernia and was the runt. my friend isnt concerned with pedigree and all that jazz she just wants a little girl to love. im just really disappointed in the way this breeder has turned giving loving families a puppy to love into a snotty arrogant way to make money. whew.. thanks for listening... by the way.. anyone know a good breeder near va??? thanks! |

| Don't give up on your search. I'm sure just the right baby is out there. And, about that rude email .... there's just no excusing bad manners, just consider the source!! Good luck!

| I agree that is a rude comment but you also might find one easier for that price by looking fr a male rather than a female. Males are usually priced less than females. I got my male for 600.

| How rude. You are not doing anything shameful. People have different budget. Budget and the love you can give to a dog is totally different story. Some rich person can pay millions for a dog but no love and you can pay very little for a dog but tons of love. I know it will be difficult to find affordable yorkie.... (I got second job so I can save money for my yorkie!!) Good luck for searching. I'm sure you and your friend will find the one who needs your friend's love!!! |

| + The breeder I bought mine from had a sign hanging on her wall that said DO NOT ASK ME TO LOWER MY PRICE. She explained that her babies were worth every penny that she asked. |

| Was there anything else in the response? Maybe she said that because of your spending limit? I was actualy going to say why don't you try adopting, but I read the rest of your thread. Also, there is nothing wrong with getting one from the pound. Look on the bright side, atleast now you know how that breeder makes you feel, so if you are looking for a breeder again you can stay clear of her. Good luck with your search

| To be insulted for being poor shows how ignorant the olther person is, and definitely not worthy of your concern. Keep looking and good luck in your search. don't be discouraged by a few ignorant people. You won't know if you don't ask. so keep asking. |
