| Never had a Yorkie shipped, but don't think I'd do it unless it were absolutely the only way (say for instance if we moved to Maui and they don't let animals in the cabin for Hawaiian flights). I would fly to the destination and pick up a baby and bring them home that way.

| I have never had one shipped to me however Buddy was shipped from Hungary. I purchased him after he got here. I often think what a tramatic and stressful time it must have been for him and others being taken away from their litter mates and momma. How sad. He is a big boy so I am sure that helped him arrive safe such a long flight. I have read here many times puppies being shipped within the country having no problems so I guess if the airlines care for them they would arrive safely. If I were to get another I would get one locally and not put myself or the pup through the stress. Carol & Buddy |

| i drove 9 hours each way to get layla and i can't imagine putting a 2lb puppy in a crate in the cargo of the plane.. the drive home for layla was stressful enough. i could tell she missed her mom and her sisters. i think the stress of the flight would change their personality... it makes me sad thinking of it |

| Kodak was shipped on a 1 1/2 hour flight from Oklahoma to Chicago which is why I agreed upon it. He came right out the crate and walked over to me and then I took him to the vet. I was leary of it at first, but when I checked to see how long he would be on the plane, I was ok. I made sure to be there early so he wouldn't be sitting by himself waiting for me. The vet in Oklahoma also gave him a little sedative so he would sleep during the flight. I haven't heard to many horror stories on shipping, but mines did ok 2 yrs ago.

| I didn't have my yorkie shipped to me, but my Pomeranian was shipped to us from Oklahoma. He arrived safe and sound and I am glad it was offered, we couldn't find a blue merle pom anywhere within driving distance. It depends on the weather, airlines, and breeder as to if it works out ok. So look into all of those aspects.

| I am new to breeding and will ship my yorkies when i need to if they are healthy and old enough. Also, the weather has to be just right to ship. i will also fly them myself. We have shipped hundreds of nine week old beagle puppies over the years and have never had a problem except once when the pup missed it's connecting flight. it had a two hour delay. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I have had dogs shipped in the past. There are two levels of shipping VIP and Cargo. I always go VIP because the dog gets white glove treatment and is off and there for you within 15 minutes of the flight landing. Definitely monitor weather and the length of time that the flight has to be. I have done it and would do it again. I always make sure to be there before the flight lands and I am ready with water and food to take care of the baby.

| I kept looking and finally found a breeder in driving distance. At first, I just looked in AL. But after I couldn't find one, I checked FL and MS, since I live 45 minutes from both. I got lucky and drove 1 hour to get Venus in Pace, FL. I didn't want to have one shipped, because I knew nothing about shipping, and I also wanted to see her before I paid that kind of money on her. I'm really glad I did too, cause I know she didn't come from a puppy mill. I got to see the kennels, which really impressed me! I also got lucky and got 1st pick out of 5 puppies! |

| Bobbi was shipped at 12 weeks on a short flight from Illinois to Connecticut. We had no issues and the weather was just right.
