Leaking pee pads I have an issue with Royce he would use his pee pad only once and then he would pee right next to it and it's a total mess . I tried placing a plastic tray underthe pee pad but it didnt work . I switched to newspapers and royce would pee right next to the newspaper never on it . What shoul I do ? Should i train him to go only outside or is it too late ? he is one year old . also i have to take into consideration the fact thaton some days it will get extremely cold here and i wont be able to take him out to potty . what should i do?

Most of the time my 2 little boys do great with the pee pad but maybe once a day one of them will pee right on the edge of the pad and the pee goes underneath the pad. It makes more of a mess then if they would have just peed on the floor. I tried the tray that snaps around the edges of the pad and he wouldn't (I only had one yorkie then) use the pad at all then. I am also anxious to see what has worked for others. I did put a little toy fire hydrant on one of the pads because one of mine likes to hike that little leg. That has helped him but he still sometimes pees on the edge sometimes.

The petsmart litter boxes are so $$$ I bought one and wish I would have thought of this before spending the money. Maybe you can buy a regular size plastic toat box?? Not sure what everyone calls them. A plastic storage bin. Leave the longer sides there (so if the leg is lefted the pee wont go everywhere. Cut out the one shorter side for him to go through. Most plastic storage boxes aren't much. I just bought a few and they were 5 bucks each so maybe this could work for you. Good Luck

Its worth a try. I dont think cat litter pans will cost that much. Just use the pan empty and put the pee pad in there. It worked well for me and niko, as he liked circling the pad. now he cicles the box. you will be so happy when you see your baby going on its own
