Scared me half to death! Tonight my daughter and I took the pups for a walk, along with my two grandsons. My daughter has a male yorkie, Kirby, who is Maddies brother. She also has a pekinese/japanese chin...LOL...that long name cracks me up. Anyway, his name is Baxter. We were walking along and having a fun time and passed a house where a man was carrying in groceries. We barely got by his house when this huge dog came up from behind us and went right at Maddie. He bashed into her and she went rolling with this dog still after her. I was trying to get her picked up , when Baxter came to the rescue...he was protecting Maddie! I finally got Maddie picked up and we were both shaking like leaves! The owner of that huge dog...I don't even know what kind it was...got there and grabbed his dog. His dog had gotten out when he opened the door to take in the groceries. Maybe that dog just wanted to play...I don't know...but it scared me so and to think I didn't even see him till he was right there on Maddie! I always try to stay alert to things and if I see a large dog, I always pick Maddie up...but this one I didn't even see coming! Touched my heart how Baxter sprung to action to protect her!

I am happy to here that Maddie is okay. The big dog probably was just trying to play. I'm glad to here that Maddie and the other dogs are okay, and think it is so sweet how Baxter tried to come to her rescue! WAR EAGLE !!! Reagan

Oh my! What a scare! I took Hefner and Buddha to a "small dog" dog park this weekend and I swear they should have a large, medium, small and tiny dog part partitions because even playing with 2 boston terriers was scary for me. Then there was this scottie dog that grabbed Hefner by his harness and drug him a few feet as I was trying to pick him up. He was playing but sometimes even playing can be dangerous when it's with a larger dog.

Wow, how scary! I used to keep Leila on a harness when she was tiny for that reason. It only happened once, but I was so thankful I had it on her, I was able to give her a quick yank and she was in my arms.
