| ![]() I took my dogs to the groomer yesterday for a puppy trim. They are almost 10 mths old. I can hardly tell that she cut anything except for she touched up their ears and a sanitary cut around their little lipstick. She charged me $35 / per yorkie. She also gave them a bath and trimmed their nails. Does this seem high? I guess if she would have cut more off then I would feel like I would have got my money's worth. I guess I expected the hair around their face to be more even. I thought it might make their hair look thicker. 1st pic - before trim 2nd pic - after trim in jammies |

| ![]() the going price for grooming here is from $15 -$25 and up it depends on where you go but it takes a month wait to even get in also i think that price is about right.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() They did a nice job on the feet etc and that's how I felt when Cheri got grooomed once - i was like - "hay ...I could do this myself and save the 35.00" and now - I do. When my girls really really need a pro I may take them but for now - i do the ears - tummies butts and feet myself - it's really easy and you just need to take your time and go slow. The thing that's good about taking them in is they get used to it and be glad you didn't get a hack job - many of us have had a really BAD groomer experience - me included and I would way rather have too little done than deal with a mean or bad groomer who is clipper happy |

| ![]() If my groomer (when I go to one) just does a trim (nails, face, ears, privates, feet, etc.) it is only $15!!!! That includes a bath and dry and bow or bandana. AND to me, that looks like what you had done. If we do the whole body cut, including everything above, it is only $25! --There are places that charge more and I am sure they are good too, but I don't go to just anybody....and even then, I don't go to our groomer that often (we try to do most at home).

| ![]() Did you tell the groomer exactly what you wanted? The price seem reasonable to me. I paid 50 last time I have Cozy groomed. |

| ![]() Your girls are adorable. Buddy was about that length last Sat when I took him to a different groomer. She does not use cages and hand dries. He has only been to PetCo but after reading, recently, about the dopgs that have died in these places I made the appt. PetCo charged $38.00 so I figured $50.00? When I picked him up he looked like a Fox. His face is so short. I did ask about the anal glands and if they thought it should be done since I saw him rub his butt on the carpet a couple time and they said it would be an additional $20.00. I said never mind. Charge $64.50! ![]() |

![]() Have the vet do the glands - most dogs usually don't even need it - but my vet will do it for like 5 bucks for my cocker - same with nails | |

| ![]() I pay $50 every time I take Misha in. Someone told me about another groomer that was cheeper, so I tried it. Actually I've tried 2 others. We'll I got what I paid for. She got a 20 dollar hair cut. I picked her up, her face was dirty, didn't look like anything had been done, except a fluff job from the blow dryer, & over loaded on cologne. So I took her where they charged me $40. I came home & cried. Misha looked awful. The way I look at it, if your not happy with a groomer, find another. If you are, no matter the cost, stick with her. Misha goes in next week to the $50 dollar groomer. She's great, but high. |

Wow! My thoughts exactly!!!! Our old groomer (before she got cancer and had to quit) would do everything...even anal glands and didn't charge extra for it! That is CRAZY!!!

| ![]() Well, If it was by appointment they do charge more. They can't do as many at one time so they charge you more. I paid 25 for Molly and they really didn't do much. Think of it this way. When you get your hair cut you are charged the same price to trim 5 inches as you are to trim one inch. A hair cut is a hair cut. I agree that they are over priced but, if they don't have to stay there all day and you know they are safe I guess it is worth it. ![]()

| ![]() I know that every area, the cost is different and every groomer, they charge their own price......it is just crazy to see the difference. I think some see a Yorkie coming and automatically charge more....really! My groomer, as cheap as she is, does everything wonderfully, Mojo is always clean and cut good and she will ask if you want cologne and which one..she will ask if you want a bow or bandana and let you pick the ribbon or material you want. She will ask about how to do the face, bangs, no bangs, ears plucked or not, ears "tipped" or not, etc. She is done, wash, dry, cut, style etc in about 30-45minutes. AND the good thing, we stay there. - Mojo does well, so it isn't a big deal for us. I know, "you get what you pay for" , but that isn't the case here.......I am really impressed w/ the work for the price we pay. The highest I ever paid for Mojo to get done around here was $30, so that still isn't bad. It is all in the area and how many dogs they try to fit into their dog, I think. I agree, if you find one that you like, no matter what the price is, stick with them (kind of like vets and our own hair salons). But if you pay alot for something and you question it, I would definitely check around! --who knows, you might just find someone that you really love and enjoy going to and that does a wonderful job for a lot less. Good luck!
