I've actually heard of people litter training their dogs before with cat litter. This lady that's on my paper route uses the dog litter for her chihuahua and it works!

Check out the dog litter on petsmart. It says it's made out of paper.

I never tried the litter but my girls do use pads! I may try the litter in the future. I get puppy pads off ebay (like 400 for $25) they last so long and litter I saw was around $13 a bag . I kinda figure I'd be buying it left and right with my girls and pads are the cheaper route to go. However, still curious to see how it works. Good Luck

I've had a litter box for Chico since he was a baby. I actually use one of those clear plastic storage bins - lots bigger than a cat box. I've had it upstairs so we didn't have to go downstairs and outside at night. Anyway, at first, Chico would go crazy digging and "swimming" in it. Pretty funny, but a huge mess. Now (11 mos) I put him in it when he first wakes me up and keep putting him in till he pees. Sometimes he'll even run upstairs and pee in it during the day. Sometimes he'll pee next to it...... or sometimes no where near it......... It's great when it works, but he's a Yorkie with a mind of his own. Good luck.

Judy's chiuahua uses it pretty good. She told me when Chichi pottied on the floor she scooped it up and put it in the litter box and put her in with it. She did this a few times and when Chichi would go in the box she gave her a yogurt drop. Eventually Chichi caught on and she is good about using it. Wish me luck. I'll keep ya'll posted.
