Does Target Allow Pets in Carrier? I want to go check out all the cool stuff some of you have found at our local store but I want to know if my girl could come along in carrier. |
Sorry I don't know?? They prob wouldn't say anything since its such a big store the manager would spend all day just looking for you lol. |
My target doesnt allow dogs in the store |
i have no idea but my husband and i went into our target before and there was a woman and her pomeranian shopping and she was carrying it so it was in full view no carrier at all. |
I always carry Coco either in full view or in carrier and no one has ever said anything. People will usually pet her and stuff, even employees. |
OK! I'll jump the fence, I am headed over there. |
I don't think so but I'm not 100 % sure. |
I was told that I had to leave because since they sold food in the store it was against health regulations(they were in a carrier). I agree when it comes to grocery stores or restaurants I don't take my girls, but Target come on! |
Are puppies allowed in any stores in a carrier? Obviously not restaurants and stuff, but I've been wondering since I've gotten Howie. I mean, I take him places all the time (even Target) in the carrier, and no one has ever said anything. But, who knows. Sometimes employees don't care enough anyway, hehe. They just think he's cute!! :D |
Okay, I need to say that I was asked to leave our new Target. I had Babybear in his carriage. You can barely see him in there. I was told because of the food. I told them that he is recovering from neck surgery but that didn't do any good either. they said if he was a service dog they would not be able to say a thing. So I am trying to find a way to get him into stores since I can't leave him alone. Anyone have any suggestions. Heck I got kicked out of Home Depot two weeks ago. They said they do not allow dogs anymore because someone got bit. So no more dogs only service dogs. Val and Babybear |
I'd say the only thing you could do is to get a signed note from the vet saying that the dog medically cannot be left alone and that he is permitted everywhere....even then, who knows? |
when the dog is still a puppy they usually don't say anything.. i used to take Kayah with me to Target all the time.. but then she got bigger, and they told me to either leave or leave her in the car (which i will NOT do).. i work at Walgreens and I know that.. like the other post says.. any store that sells any type of food.. will not let you bring a pet in, but everyone knows me at almost every walgreens in illinois, so Kayah can come in with NO PROBLEM:D one of the perks.. i guess? But to answer your question: No pets are NOT allowed in stores.. unless the security doesn't see :p |
Since Target has now started with "super targets," and now carry food, I don't believe they will allow any dogs inside. :animal-pa I use to take my kids with me into Lowes and Home Depot to shop but they have now put signs on the door "NO DOGS ALLOWED" because of the safety of their other patrons. |
I took him into "Target Greatland" and no one said anything, but I heard there not allowed:confused: |
I got kicked out of Target with Trixie. It was the only store that I even tried, and my bold move was punished. As soon as I walked in, I was told dogs are not allowed, not even in carriers! Oh, and Trixie was a little puppy too when I tried. |
I am back and everythig went well. No one had a BF and the cashier and employees were cool. |
our target has a service animal only sign :( |

That is great. Did you get any nice clothes for your baby??? Everytime i get to go it seems they are out of the size I need. They do have a great pet section. A lot of nice clothes and there is a car seat there that I need to get sometime. Val |

We take our three tiny yorkies on vacation to Gatlinburg Tennesse twice a year. They go into every store and mall there. I do have to watch Me-Me because of her big mouth when kids run up to the stroller. Once we were in a crystal store and this lady with a hat bent over in front of the stroller. Me-Me got spoked at her hat and let out a tirant. I thought the lady was going to drop the expensive crystal she was holding. It was kind of funny...unless I have to pay. lol |
My boyfriend and I take Pete everywhere with us as long as its not a restaurant or grocery store. Nobodys ever said anything to us. . . could this have something to do with my boyfriend being in a wheelchair:p heehee. I think everyone assumes since he's in a wheelchair his dog must be a service dog which is ok by me. . . ssshhh dont tell, our little secret:) |
Our Target doesn't allow pets either. They are so un pet friendly.........lol |
I have never had a problem with Target. One Walmart near me ask me not to bring my yorkie back into the store after I checked out. I have taken her to clothing stores, warehouse stores, you name it she has probably been there. I have even taken her to college classes with me. |
Shoot..........around here, places are soooooo UN-pet friendly!! When Mojo was just bought, he was soo tiny and we carried him into Wal-Mart and the door greeter made us leave. And we even tried a gas station, pumpled gas and carried him in and the lady made us leave (she was just a worker there)....at the same gas station the week before, my MIL had Mojo and took him in and the owner was working and he didn't care. Anyway, we don't try anymore! So sad!!! Although, in one of the tourist towns (Eureka Springs) we take him everywhere.......but that town is open to everything! We even took him into an outdoor bistro and the owner would come out and play w/ him (course he was on my lap sleeping most of the time). I met a lady a few years back at a green house......she had a very pregnant Yorkie and said that she no longer goes anywhere they she is not allowed to take her girl w/ her. Boy, I wonder if she gets out much?? I mean really??!! In my area, that would narrow down where you could go greatly!!! I understand how it isn't far for the big dog owners, but w/ us now having three big dogs, I don't think I would want to take them everywhere I went...just not as conveinent like it is with Mojo. Plus, if the little gogs never touch the ground or anything, what does it hurt? |
They don't allow bell ringers outside of it at Christmas. I doubt if they'll allow our furbabies inside. |
I've never tried bringing Teddy into Target, as much as I'd like to. On an up note, though, I brought him into both Borders and Barnes & Noble (in his purse/carrier and also in my arms) and everybody loved him! The cashiers were totally cool with it, just suggested I might want to stay out of the cafe area. We took him to Office Max and Office Depot in his purse/bag and no one said anything.:aimeeyork :) |
I take Phoebe EVERYWHERE, including Target. I have never gotten caught. She is very quiet and doesn't move. Sometimes a customer will see her through her ventilation and ask if there is a puppy in there, etc. but I have never gotten caught. DH even takes her places in her carrier when I'm not around. We don't do restaurants tho. Glad your Target experience went well. |
I've been to a Target with Bengi and nobody said anything. Then I went to another one and they asked me to leave :( |
I noticed the Target near me recently put up the \'no dogs allowed\' stickers on the doors. I haven\'t seen the signs at Home Depot yet - Jaxon has gone there tons of times. |
